7 essential steps you should take to care for your skin in spring

Just as the clothes you wear in spring are different from your winter wardrobe, you should also make a difference in your skin care routine. With the arrival of spring, after months of moving between dry and warm indoor air and cold outdoor weather, your skin is now ready for a seasonal change in skincare. In this article, we introduce you to skincare tips for spring. Follow the seven steps we have outlined to wake up your skin from its winter slumber and achieve healthy and glowing skin.

1.Exfoliate Your Skin

The first step to achieving glowing skin begins with exfoliating the remaining layers of winter. Although the human skin is continuously regenerating, heavy winter spots may hinder the proper shedding of dead skin cells and its regeneration.

The best way to exfoliate your skin is by taking a warm bath and then using a good, gentle scrub  to exfoliate your entire body, especially the rough areas prone to creating patches, such as elbows and knees. Remember that most body scrubs are too harsh for the face and can damage the skin. For facial exfoliation, use a special facial scrub. Always moisturize your skin after exfoliating to nourish it properly.

2.Drink Enough Water

You may be tired of hearing about drinking water in every diet, skincare, and fitness article, but it's for a good reason: staying hydrated really works wonders! Your body needs water to function properly, and your skin, being the largest organ, is no exception. The more water you drink, the easier it is for your skin to stay plump and prevent dryness.

To make sure you don't forget to drink water, you can always keep a bottle of water on your desk, while reading or anywhere else you spend most of your time.

3.Even on cloudy days, use sunscreen

Sunscreen  is not just for beach trips and sunny days. Even cloudy days can send harmful UV rays to attack your skin! So, defend yourself well! To protect your skin, even on cloudy days, use sunscreen. It's better to look for a lightweight product that won't clog your skin's pores.

4.Eat Fresh Fruits and Vegetables

When it comes to staying hydrated, a great way to achieve this is by consuming fresh fruits and vegetables. These delicious snacks, in addition to the vitamins and nutrients they provide, can help supply your body with some of the necessary water. Sufficient hydration can help maintain skin elasticity and fight signs of aging.

Some of the great foods for having healthy skin include lettuce, carrots, apples, watermelon, grapefruit, and other citrus fruits.

5.Use a lighter moisturizer

You probably used a heavy moisturizer for your entire body during winter, but the same products can create a thick and heavy layer on your skin as the days get warmer. As part of your skincare routine, choose a lighter moisturizing cream to keep your skin moisturized and hydrated without weighing it down.

6.Exercise

Going to the gym or doing workouts at home is probably the last thing you want to do after a busy day, but the main point is: exercise increases blood flow and therefore helps maintain healthy skin cells.

Happy skin cells = happy skin.

You don't even have to go to the gym. If the weather is good, you can do a 30-minute yoga session on the park lawns or take advantage of the fresh and mild spring air and go for a nighttime walk with your loved ones or alone.

7.Clean your makeup brushes

When you're in the process of cleaning out your closets and belongings, don't forget about your makeup and hygiene tools. Makeup brushes and sponges can harbor a lot of dirt and bacteria that may not be visible to the naked eye, and with each use, they transfer these bacteria onto your skin. Gently wash your brushes with a natural cleanser and let them air dry for 24 hours.

Also, be sure to clean your loofah thoroughly and check the expiration dates of your makeup and hygiene products every so often.
