I didnt get this brush set for regular use; rather, its for travel solely, which does shape my perspective and review. Pros: 1. Good selection of brush types and sizes. 2. Surprisingly well made Ive had issues in the past with the metal on these brushes being of poor quality and some have been so sharp they cut me in use. Thats not the case with these brushes. I found nothing sharp or poorly shaped, and they seem solidly attached. 3. Bristles are good quality Despite aggressive tugging, nothing came out in my hand. They also grip powder and apply it well, for the most part, with no clumping or uneven distribution. 4. Comfortable handles The handles are short, so I had concerns about how easy theyd be to hold and control, but I had no trouble at all getting them to do exactly what I wanted. The handles are smooth and comfortable, but they dont slip from my fingers and theres enough surface area for me to grip them the same way I do my longer brushes. 5. The case is compact, but functions perfectly The faux leather case is small, which I wanted, but offers plenty of space for the brushes plus a little extra if I want to add a few more short brushes or eyeliner pencils. The height is perfect so that the brushes dont flop around, but I can still quickly see which brush I want and can easily remove it. I hadnt planned to use the case since my travel makeup bag has slots for brushes, but its small size and convenient brush presentation for makeup application have changed my mind. Ill be tossing this into my case as-is, which allows me to use those slots for mascara and pencils instead. 6. A brush guide is included for reference, so that each brushs purpose is clear. I dont plan on using them all as intended, but its still nice to have. The guide also fits neatly in the case with the brushes and doesnt keep the top from closing securely. Cons: 1. I love the case, but it STINKS horribly. The smell is getting better and will eventually go away, Im certain, but it still hasnt quite gotten there yet two days later. 2. Not all of the brushes work as intended. The blush brush is too small to apply my product properly, but the powder brush is too, and it makes a good blush brush. The blush brush works well for applying contour, so Im shifting it to that purpose. The foundation brush makes a better concealer brush (it would take all day to use for foundation!), and the smallest eyeshadow brush doesnt hold enough to really work for that, but its great for smudging eyeliner. Because of these shifts, Ill need to carry some of my high end brushes while I travel, but not many, so take this as a mild complaint. Note that the kit also comes with two triangle powder puffs that are a soft sponge-like material with a strap across the back for a one- or two-finger hold. I wont use these and didnt test them, but they feel nice and each one comes in its own good-quality case that closes firmly. They look like they will work well for those who like that style. Overall, this set will serve me well. Im pleased with the quality and value, especially at a list price of $19.99 for 10 brushes.
