Bought this hoping to restore battery life back to 5-7 days between charges like originally. I get about 30 hours between charges which is what my original battery had degraded to before this replacement. This replacement provided no improvement. Installation instructions are good. Removing the orange plastic back takes a bit longer than in the video but works and reassembled fine.

Its a good replacement battery, but the charge according to the keyboard software is only 10 days. The original battery was more than 30 days on a single charge. It would be nice if there was a higher capacity battery for this keyboard. The kit and video disc were excellent, however there was an issue with the power switch. It has to fit perfectly, or it won't move on or off. I can't understand why Logitech couldn't make the vinyl panel on the bottom removable. Its stuck on with adhesive, but the actual bottom is secured with screws! Update: 09/06/2022 - Battery was just charged and the software says it has only 2 days of charge left. Obviously, this battery is not as good as the original. The rating and ampere hours are the same, but this battery is made of poorer materials.

Unfortunately, the battery I received held a charge for only a few hours, less time than the years old original battery had. As the battery seemed to work initially I discarded the original battery and when this battery proved relatively useless I had no choice but to discard the keyboard. Perhaps these replacement batteries are getting as old as the originals and are probably of a lesser initial quality so they may no longer be viable replacements.

I installed per the included DVD video, which was shot in real-time (FF past the screw loosening and tightening). The instructions were mostly accurate. Heating the vinyl backing is a longer process than shown, however, On my first keyboard, it took about 30 seconds of close-up application of the hair dryer over one edge to get the edge to come up. Once the first edge is up you can heat the subsequent sections in stages. Re-sealing at the end is quicker. So far the keyboard is working well, and I'm using it for this review. I have a 2nd keyboard of the same type and will be buying a 2nd battery for that one. I will update the review if-when I notice operational issues in the future.

Logitech service on this product is terrible, according to a phone call with their customer service "the battery cannot be replaced." Amazing that on a >$200 keyboard this wasn't a design consideration. That being said, NewPower99 delivered with the replacement kit and video. It was not easy to get the keyboard apart but with some patience itgot there. The only casualty from the process was that the orange backing on the keyboard curled from the heat and pulling and could not be reapplied, it's purely cosmetic and others may have a better experience. Considering this $30 kit saved the keyboard from e-waste, I'm very satisfied.
