Absolutely necessary for 2001 Forester rear speakers

These foam rings significantly improved the overall sound and bass response of my aftermarket rear speakers. They were a perfect fit for the rear speakers in my 2001 forester. I did not have to use adhesive and they seal against the speaker cover perfectly. I didn't end up using the center foam pieces since its pretty tight in the door.

Didnt fit my 6x9. Had to get creative with the center foam. I dont notice any difference in sound quality.

And, honestly, I used the inside but for vibration dampening around the truck as I sound deadened the whole thing.

Does NOT fit any 6x9, thrown in trash.

Money down the drain. Was going to review these and do some comparison sound improvement content. Can confirm what other reviewers have stated. They did not fit any of the seven different 6x9 we had here. Its gong to hit the surround even if you stretch it. Can you cut it? Sure but they aren't selling it as cut to fit. A bit surprised that NVX is still selling as 6x9 fitment seeing all the reviews stating otherwise.
