Philips SHQ1200/28 ActionFit Sports In-Ear Headphones......

I used to listen to these with my Sony Ericsson Walkman 580 cellphone.yeah..thats old.. I cant tell you the exact date but I will tell you theyre over 15 years old and I took the picture to prove it, you can see one is so old theyre dry rotted and faded Ive used them all through Boot Camp when I was younger doing odd jobs in the sun all day long at one point I was spraying chemicals And thought they might melt but didn't an stayed in my ears all day. They still work till this day but I just decided to see if they actually still make these because mine are so old I thought they would be discontinued but to my surprise theyre still going strong and very popular with people who want something that is reliabable that wont let them down. I dont have issues with wireless, but I know too many people that drop them and once they do theyre too hard to fine jogging or doing exercises getting stomped on so I prefer having a wire. You can run the wire inside of your jacket, shirt, or just use the clip, whatever works for you. Im telling you now if youre looking for something with great acoustics & surprisingly smooth base this is as crisp as youre gonna get. And a little tip is I would put the largest cap size it comes with on them for added bonus. It comes with three sizes but the largest one has a hollow side that I think helps them sound even better once in your ear youll see what I mean.

PROS: Sigificantly better sound quality than the earbuds which Apple packs with iPhones and iPods, especially much better bass level. These fit better, are more comfortable, and stay in place better when running, jogging or just moving around in general. The package includes two additional sizes of caps for the earbuds, for people with larger or smaller ear canals. The cord is longer than Apple's, and there is a sliding clip which you can adjust along the length of the cord to secure it to your belt, collar or the like. Nice when jogging, cycling etc., It helps to keep the earbuds in place. CONS: Durability is a problem. I keep buying these units for their superior sound quality at their price point, but I am on my fourth set of these in six or seven years. All three of my previous sets failed at the input jack -- evidently, the daily motion of life wears out the junction between the wire and the headphone jack. Each time, the earbuds would lose one channel intermittently, which I could fix by fiddling with the wire, and then it would progress to the the point where only the one channel would be heard. So then into the trash... There is no microphone and there are no device controls. These are plain earphones. Beside that, the only other possible negative I can speak to will depend on your devices -- unlike Apple's earbuds, these have a right-angle jack. Apple's and most other ear buds have a straight jack. I prefer the right-hand because it doesn't stick up as much when my phone is in a pocket, but some thick phone cases don't provide quite enough clearance for the right-hand jack to fit into. So if you're using a heavy, shockproof case, these earbuds may not work.

They are super loud and sound great. Good bass, no distortion. This is my third pair, I wouldn't buy anything else. I cleaned pools for 8 hours a day everyday all summer in in the brutal south Carolina sun. They were even completely submerged several times. Eventually the sun wore them down and the rubber attached to the earbud themselves broke. But they still worked just fine. After the abuse I put them through I can't give it anything but a 5 star rating, even though they eventually broke. I would still be using the old ones but my 3yo thought they were a toy and lost them. Buy these ear buds. The price is right and the quality is fantastic.

First of all, I have had the old model SHQ100 for 4 years now and they still work perfectly, I bought the new ones only because I finally lost all of the removable rubber "ear cap sizes". I like new new ones even more, especially for the price. I see a lot of reviews with comparisons but no actual numbers, so here are the differences: Old Model is Philips ActionFit SHQ1000/28 In-Ear Headphones Tuned for Sports (Discontinued by Manufacturer) New models is the SHQ1200/28 being reviewed now. Length of cord is 10" shorter on new model. It was 50" for the old one and is 40" for this one. Which is a great plus for me because I am not 6'6", I am 5' 8". The plug for the new model is a 90 degree (which fits my cell phone much better with a case on), the old one was just a straight plug in with no bend. I would recommend these to everyone, they sound great and the best part is they do not fall out while running or in crossfit classes. (If this was helpful, please hit the "helpful" button below!
