This product Health Nutrition (HN) zinc comes in the form of zinc citrate. Zinc citrate is water soluble. The absorption rate for zinc citrate is roughly 60%. Each HN gummy has 25mg of zinc but you can only absorb 60% of that. This means that the max absorption per gummy is roughly 15mg of zinc. For max absorption, take zinc citrate on an empty stomach with water. If upset stomach or nausea occurs, taking zinc with food should alleviate the problem. The sugar content in gummy vitamins is high because zinc has a strong metalic taste. Without added sugar, chewable zinc would be much less palatable. This HN zinc supplement tastes "better" than others I have tried likely due to the higher sugar content. If you look at reviews for other products, pretty much all chewable zinc supplements taste pretty bad. So don't buy any of these products expecting them to necessarily taste good. I don't eat a diet high in zinc. The effects of taking a zinc supplement are very noticeable for me within the first week. In my opinion, a 25mg zinc supplement is more than enough for most people. There is probably no need for the average person to double the dosage especially if your plan is to take zinc everyday.
