I got this timer to use for a auto sprinkler in my yard but it is actually made for smaller irrigation systems like drip lines and garden bubblers so it did not suit my needs. If you have a small vegetable garden this will work great but definitely not for lawns.

This one is digital, not manual like most of this style. You will need three AAA batteries for this which are not included. Once you install your batteries, you just push the center button to select the amount of time and water flow. It does come with a small roll of Teflon tape to help prevent leaks.

I got this for my drip irrigation system. I wanted something simple and reliable. Install the batteries and set the controls to how often and how long you want it. Incredibly simple to set. So far it's been clicking on and off as I set it. I haven't been able to measure battery life yet. I am very happy with this timer.

I was hoping for a simple hose timer for my garden. This one is definitely straightforward to use--just put in 3 AAA batteries, and connect it to your hose...but actually, it's a little too "simple" and not very "customizable." It seems that the amount of watering time is indelibly tied to the hours between waterings...and well, ok, but the choices are really limited and not to my needs, so that means I am stuck. For example, I could set the timer to turn the water on either 3, 5, or 10 minutes every 12 hours. I don't want to water every 12 hours. But the next choice is to turn the water on either 30, 60, or 90 minutes every 24 or 48 hours. And finally, you could turn the water on every 60, 90, or 120 minutes every 7 days. What I would really like is something more like 5 or 10 minutes every 48 hours--but that isn't possible. I like the idea of simplicity, and this nearly achieves it, except in this case, it goes a little too far, and that's why I am giving it 3-stars.

This is going to run concurrently with my other water timer. I have 5 watering zones. My other timer only accommodates 4 zones. Therefore, I have put this one on a "Y" splitter on my outdoor faucet, with a garden hose attached to it. It requires 3 AAA batteries, and thus far it works perfectly. I am a little concerned about how long the batteries will last, therefore I will replace the batteries when I plan to be away. It comes on and off as described. You can select 12, 24 or 48 hour intervals, as per your preferences, and you program it for the duration of time you want the water to run. This is very simple to use, straightforward and easy to install.
