Our goldfinch love this feeder as much as we do. It's a simple design and easy to clean. Great product!

The gold finches can finally eat in peace (upside down) without the sparrows and house finches hogging the feeder. Some of the thistle can get stuck in the bottom and the plastic tube is not the strongest but with care, this should last a long time.

What eats thistles? Goldfinches. How big are goldfinches? Well, pretty small. So how far should the hole be from the perch so the goldfinch can reach and pull thistles out of the feeder? Well, I don't know the exact measurement, but I do know this. I put the feeder up and for months I hardly ever saw a bird on it, and the amount of thistle feed in the feeder never changed. So one day, I saw a goldfinch on the feeder, quickly grabbed a pair of binoculars, and observed. And what I observed was, the poor goldfinch simply could not reach any of the holes. My gosh, how aggravating, for me but even more so for the birds! To put feed out for the birds and then witness them try to access it and be setup to fail from the get go is just so, so disappointing. Until / unless this company posts on all of their websites, on their boxes, and on their review boards, etc. that they have fixed their thistle access hole misplacement problem, do not buy this feeder. And a personal comment for Woodlink, the company that makes this feeder. The fact that you made this error is, quite simply, unbelievable and inexcusable. You obviously never tested the feeder to see if it actually works. This alone means I will never, ever buy anything from Woodlink again, because this error is just so egregiously stupid. And you know what? Like the saying goes, "You can't fix stupid". And to add insult to injury, you used "Audubon" in the name of the feeder, thus sullying Audubon's reputation, which I have been a proud member for decades. Get a different line of work. Or just go away, out of business.
