I am reviewing the Stainless Steele TARARIUM 300 watt Aquarium Heater for 25-75 Gallon Fish Tank (fresh water only) sold by the Tararium store. Finally, a heater that didnt try to broil my fish!!! I have a 37 gallon fresh water aquarium with a Blue Emperor Cichlid. The heater in his tank is glass and quit old, so I have been trying to find a replacement for him and have already been through 2 faulty heaters. I liked that this one is stainless steel and has an adjustable thermostat. During the winter months I keep my house at about 68F and have to heat the aquarium to 79 F to keep Blue happy. This heater does the job and looks good doing it. It comes in at an impressive 9.95 ounces with the cord resting on the counter. It has easy to read numbers on the dial, which is also easy to turn, but not loose. The thermometer is in Celsius, but it has a conversion chart on the box, which is nice. I bucket tested it before putting it in my fish tank to make sure it wasnt going to short circuit and electrocute my fish. So far, it is accurate within about 1 degree and hasnt given me any problems. I always keep a close eye on the temperature in my tank when I have to switch thermometers. This seems like a well-built thermometer and is easy to use. It doesnt make any noise when switching on/off and the orange indicator light is nicely diffused through the plastic, so it wouldnt be disruptive if it were in a bedroom. I left the old heater in the tank just so the reader can see the difference between the old glass thermometer and this beautiful stainless steel thermometer. It looks so much nicer! This is solidly built, and, it has some heft to it. The "water level" label is a bit confusing; so, be sure to follow the instructions. I'd expect this would be more than sufficient for the tank sizes advertised.

Keep in mind to only use this in freshwater tanks since it is stainless steel. The temperature control works well and it keeps the water at a steady temperature. Good for what it is described to be.

I was a little hesitant at first just because I was worried about my turtles bumping the element. However, the temp does not get too hot to the point of being concerned about that. I won't need it much in the cold weather months, but I did want something I could use on frigid days and this works just fine for my needs.

I have a stainless steel heater in my tropical fish tank. I like it for its durability. With my tendency to be clumsy, I've shattered glass heaters in the past, so the stainless steel construction provides me with peace of mind. Thankfully, my fish are still thriving. Operating it is straightforward, and I haven't noticed any issues affecting my fish. The heater is effectively maintaining the temperature as intended. Given that I have a 29-gallon tank, it's suitable for that volume of water without appearing overly bulky or unattractive. Overall, its inconspicuous size blends well within my tank setup.
