Very smooth, quiet wheels. I also had issues with past wheels peeling and splitting. These wheels have not degraded yet. Happy with the quality and functionality.

There are many replacement wheels for suitcases offered, most based on in-line skate wheels. They seemed like the wheel would be harder, so I chose these with a rubber outer coating. They may wear out sooner (but they will still last for years), but they reduce the sound of rolling the suitcase and are very quiet. II used these to replace wheels on an older LV suitcase. These wheels are very similar to the old wheels. As far as Easy to Install: I gave it 5 starts, once I had removed the old wheels it was easy to install these with the hardware provided, the axel nuts even come with lock-tight already on them. But note: removing the old wheels isn't easy. First you have to figure out how to get to the old wheel housing (not too hard) and then I had to drill out the riveted end of the old axle. I used a drill press, a metal-cutting drill bit, and a vise grip to keep the axle from spinning. This is not an issue with the product I am reviewing here, just a heads up that I needed to remove lining, 15 star-screws, and then use a drill press to get to the point where these could be installed.

I ordered after figuring out which size I needed. The hard part was figuring out how to remove the old ones. Once I got the bracket off it was easy to install the new ones. They are definitely better than the original one on the Eddie Bauer bag.

Had an Eddie Bauer suitcase that one wheel failed on. Took it back to Eddie Bauer and discovered they only warrantee for a year now, so it was too late for a replacement. Took some measurements and ordered these wheels. Had to do some cutting with a Dremel tool on the interior of the suitcase behind the lining to get at the axle nuts to get the old wheels off. Installed the new wheels, and when I rolled it I couldnt believe how much easier it rolled than it did when it was brand new! These wheels are better than what was on the suitcase originally. Have used it for travel several times now, and the wheels still work great.
