This is a simple phone holder whose best attribute is that it doesn't obscure an bottom ports or the cameras on either the front or the back. However, the worse is that the holder is not designed to hold a phone in a case...or at the case must be slim. My phone is 3 5/16" wide and fits width-wise fine, but at 5/8" thick, it's too thick and will pop out of the holder. Your phone should be no thicker than 3/8" to fit inside the holder.

So I originally got this to use with my phone while I grocery shop. I keep my grocery list on my phone, and sometimes am looking for coupons on my phone as well. It's annoying to keep pulling out my phone constantly. This does grip the handle of a standard Walmart grocery card easily enough, and the mount head swivels and locks in place allowing me to move my phone as needed once the grip is on the cart. The phone grip also can be removed and a standard Action camera screw is there to be used if needed. Now the downside. I have a Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 and while the phone mount will grip my phone, it will also pull the case of the phone off, as I have to position it weird to lay on the mount. My sister has an Iphone and she tried it both on a grocery cart and on her stroller and it worked great for her. I ended up giving her the mount for her use. She uses it on walks with the kids to have her phone out and hands free. So if you have a standard Candybar phone, this will work great. If you have a wonky or flip phone, you might need to try something else if you have a phone case.
