I wanted an activity for my daughter that wasnt messy and she could occupy herself with. This was it! She loves creating different looks with all the different colored balls. I thought this activity might have been a one time thing for her and she would get bored of it but she uses it all the time.

The perfect creativity activity for toddlers. I love this National Geographic craft kit. Great and it develops fine motor skills.

For me the best toy is one that kiddos love. And the little in my life loves this! He had fun playing with all the designs and making his own on the blank backs. I like that it's soft, but not really breakable, because the little isn't exactly the most gentle with everything. I also like toys where this is a way to use them, but also that they can be as creative as they want and use it differently, and this hits all those marks!

While my 4 year old liked doing this activity, the pom poms were a little too stiff to push through enough to get it to stay in place. He only took 5 minutes to complete one design and then moved on. For the price, I don't think it was worth it.

Although there's not much about this set that makes it "National Geographic" beyond the logo on the box, it's cute and colorful and safe for little fingers, so I can't complain. My preschoolers have loved playing with the pom poms but have quickly gotten frustrated trying to get them to go into--and not all the way through--the holes. If you have a patient darling, then this would be a nice art activity. If you have more active/curious kids who like to come up with their own way of doing activities, then you will have foam boards with holes in them and pom poms all over your house. (This isn't a fault of the product, so I can't dock a star for it, but it's certainly lessened my personal appreciation!) And a safety note: although the title notes this is a craft for 2-4 year olds, this is one you have to supervise carefully as these pom poms are all just about the size of a kid's airway. If your 2-year-old still likes sticking things in their mouth, you really need to watch this one!
