I'm a big fan of small card games that can be played on your own or with a few people, for a few minutes or longer, and require observation. Zippy is even smaller than my favorite Set card game, which is great, so I can slip it into my purse and play on the go. You don't even need a surface to play!! Instead of simply matching objects, here we have 8 shapes in various quantities scattered on each card and we must find a shape with matching quantity. So fast counting and shape matching is involved which is a good way to practice very basic math as well as sharpen attention and quick thinking. There are 4 game variants and some of your own you can easily come up with to change things up. It is pocket sized and easy to bring along anywhere.
