Had to look on the internet to find out what my grandson was involved in. Shooting Rugs was his answer its not knitting or crocheting, but they use yarn to make specialty rugs. So hes going to get a present. I think this yarn will be perfect for small areas of a rug he wants to stand out. Since its reflective it should provide an excellent highlight. Hopefully he will like it as much as I do.

I have yet to crochet this into a piece, but my plan is to make a beanie for my daughter who works in parking lot security for concert events. It just adds additional protection to be seen when outside at night. I'm not convinced the reflection is as bright as the advertised photo, but from what I have been able to test with different lighting, it will do the job. I couldn't capture the reflection of the yarn with my camera phone. You can see up close the reflective pieces embedded in the yarn though in my upclose photo. The price does seem a bit high, but since I'm only creating 1 piece for the safety of my daughter, it is well worth it - and it will be a unique piece since it's hand made.

I enjoy crocheting and got this ball of yarn to make a garment that has reflective properties (such as a beanie, mittens, scarf, etc.). I like products from the Illuminite brand (jackets) because of their highly reflective products that allows motorists to see pedestrians in the dark or in inclement weather (such as walking in a parking lot in the dark rainy Pacific Northwest evenings). I haven't used this yarn yet, but I wanted to see if it would be at all reflective. I took this picture in one of our dark closets with my phone on flash mode with the door cracked open enough to let my arm through holding my phone. This is the picture I got. It reflects pretty well as a skein of yarn. I haven't yet made anything with it, but when I do, I will likely work with it in double in a project for a marled look. If you made an entire project with this skein, I think the product would be very reflective, a good safety feature. So far, would highly recommend.
