I plugged it into my computer for over an hour and it did not charge anything. Waste of money.
The media could not be loaded. Used this on the plane with an adapter and it charged it perfectly. I have a Microsoft surface 3 pro.
I have this with a 60W charging brick for travel so I can leave the OEM charger at my desk at home. The 10 foot cord also allows me to work on my back deck without needing an extension cord.
I bought this unknowing whether the output from a LiFePO4 solar generator batter system would provide the voltage requirements to charge my Surface Laptop. I can report that the charging worked and the charge time was fast. This from either the 40W or 100W usbC ports on the generator. I believe that the voltage output from such generators are typical of LiFePO4 batteries at just below 14V and that these batteries have a very steady output in the 13.5V area. I believe that the technical info and warning from the manufacturer of this charging cable states that 15V are a requirement. Such is not the case, at least for my earlier version of the Surface. No ratings for Durability or Sturdiness, since I have not used it long enough to make a sound statement in this regard.
TLDR- This failed in 6 months, don't buy it. It was great when I got it, the length at 10' is perfect. The problem is that it's a cheap plastic cable with a cheap plastic surface connector. The angle of the cheap plastic cable bends and puts stress on the surface connector when you stand the surface on a table. Over time, the bend causes the wires in the connector to fail and it will no longer charge my surface pro.
