My wife had a quilt where some of the seams were separating, and was struggling to figure out how to repair them. This turned out to be the solution, and was much easier than using thread and won't increase any fraying of the fabric in the area of the repair. However, this wasn't as easy to use as the instructions suggested, and we found that we needed to hold the fabric for closer to 60 seconds rather than the 30 seconds described. It is also difficult to not apply too much glue, and the excess glue does leave a rubbery texture to the fabric after it dries. But overall, this is handy for making fabric repairs that would be difficult or impossible to do with a needle and thread.

My test case for this glue is my husband's favorite pair of work shorts. He managed to tear the button off the front, so it needed a patch before I reattached the button. I ironed the area to be patched first so that it was as flat as I could make it. Then I cut a patch out of light cotton (I don't have a lot of choice in patching materials available). Following the very simple instructions, I spread glue on the patch, then held it in place for the required 30 seconds. Then I left the whole thing until the next day. I was pleasantly surprised at both the flexibility of the dried patch and the fact that any extra glue dried clear. I sewed on the button (I could tell the glue was behind the patch because it was not exactly stiff, but not as pliable as glue-free fabric), then put the shorts in the washer to see how the patch would wash/dry. Understand that I deliberately did not pink the edges of the patch nor finish them in any manner. Where the glue did not quite reach, the fabric of the patch frayed some, but did not go past where it was glued. This glue is something I will certainly use in the future!!

You get two bottles of fabric glue, two clips, a brush and an instruction sheet. The bottles have an inner seal that needs to be removed before using. Upon opening there is an ammonia odor. The product listing says it is a natural glue made from latex but there is no indication on the bottles, outer box, or printed information, what the ingredients are. Since non-toxic and keep out of reach of children don't seem to go together, it would be helpful to have the ingredients listed. The glue works. I used it to glue some polyurethane leather that was used on portions of our real leather sofa cushions. They don't tell you when you purchase some "leather furniture" that it's not all real leather. It looks like it because it is the same color but after repeated use the fake leather in the sides of the cushions cracks. I glued damaged sections and after it dried (dries clear) I put a thin coat over the entire blemish. There is some elasticity to the repair, so I am encouraged that it will last. I have deducted one star for lack of ingredient info on the product.

I actually like this product. It has the tools to help you use it more effectively. It dries clear. It dried soft so it did not ruin the feel of the chenille I used it on. I would say that it did not dry as fast as I would have liked. But for a glue that dries as it does and does not have a bad smell like some of the other ones do, it is worth me getting and using.

This is an epoxy-based glue, so I know that it will hold up to machine washing. It also remains flexible once cured. I use it for securing long hems, much easier than pins, especially on thin slippery materials like sil-nylon. It works better than hemming tape since it does not add bulk, and will stick to almost any material. I also use it for securing repair patches and decorative patches, more secure than adhesive backing and much easier than sewing. Another use is for repairing hard to access areas, such as near the center of a backpack panel for example- much easier to glue on a patch than to try to stuff the backpack under the sewing machine needle. Recommended.
