I've used lots of soaker hoses over the years and I like this one. The old style ones that were round and made out of old tires Had a very rough surface. Dragged his soaker hose around plants it had a tendency to abrade anything it rubbed against. This soaker hose has a fabric sheath on it. I don't know what the inner tubing is made out of, but it lays flat so I'm assuming it's some kind of perforated plastic. It comes with a washer with small holes in it that acts as a pressure restrictor it goes into the end of the hose. It also comes with a regular washer, but I chose to use the restrictor. With the restrictor in place the hose filled with water and the water appears to come out evenly throughout the full length of the hose. That has not been the case with the old style round rubber ones. One thing to note is that most of the water seems to come out of the stitched seam along one side of the sheath. I worry about what strain that puts onto the stitching and if it will affect how long this hose will survive.

I set this up along my property edge where I have a line of medium sized trees growing. I was having trouble keeping them watered before setting this up and I was just having a lot of browning leaves and signs of tree stress. But this soaker hose helped me get the situation figured out and the trees are hydrated and staying green even in the heat of summer .

I have a lot of soaker hoses through out my gardens. I've seen these short soakers many times and thought it would be a waste until I needed a 10 foot length. This size is just the added length that I needed. It's working good. Water comes out the seems just as well as my others. It's a good product.

I live in the high desert and it is a challenge to keep outside flora alive even in the best of times and we have been experiencing record high temperatures for the last two summers. This is my first year growing a garden and I have always wanted to grow berries, so I have several berry bushes. Soaker hoses are great because the water comes out of the hose so slowly, and so close to the ground, there is less evaporation in hot climates. This soaker hose is great quality, it works exactly as it should. I am using this hose for a row of poplar trees down our driveway. This soaker hose is also very lightweight and easy to move around and bend. I like to encircle the larger trees with a soaker hose and this hose works very well in this regard.

The media could not be loaded. I have a veggie garden and in the summer I need to water it daily unless there's a hard rain. I'd been using a rubber soaker hose on a section of the garden that I planted in straight rows, and that worked fine. Other parts of my garden have more random plant placement, so this flexible fabric hose lets you weave it around precisely where you need it. The metal lawn staples help you keep the hose in position although it didn't move around when it got filled with water. The water comes out of the stitching and there's one place where there's a little "leak" that emits more water than the rest of the hose. I don't mind that because it's not a terrible thing. See pic 4 and the video to see what I mean. I still prefer this over the rubber soaker hoses because it's easier to work with and I don't need to use 90 degree connectors to make sharp turns. Overall, I like this hose very much and it is sure to save time watering. I'll be getting more for the rest of my garden. My only negative thought is that the stitching might fail. If the stitching fails in the next few months and water leaks everywhere, I'll update this review.
