These are terrific swap for a set of double point needles. I am not a fan of dpns. Split/spread stitches between two of the needles and then use the third needle as active... Works like a set of five dpn, but because they flex in the middle, you only need three. The needles would be better for me if they were an inch longer... I have long fingers, but I think anyone would prefer to hold the needles with more than two fingers and your thumb. The line between the needles is a bit nubby in the connection, so it could catch some yarn or split it instead of slide. But it's better than double point needles to make sleeves and mittens for sure. Wish I could afford addi flips, but these are more cost effective. I also think the line between the needles on these is better than the flips. I just wish the wood was in inch longer and the line between would be fine it were two inches shorter to make up the difference
