I'm slightly concerned about getting splinters in my food while using these but I guess if you're cautious and watch for that it should be okay. They do look nice though and would go nicely with a rustic decor for a party.

I ordered these expecting to receive forks AND spoons AND knives, but didn't realize it was just the knives. Ooops. I guess I need to read more closely ;) That said, unlike with another review here, I found these knives to be of surprisingly sturdy quality. They are well made, stronger in your had against food, do not snap in half at all, & cut as well as expected for a bamboo crafted "tool". Now, mind you, cutting through your t-bone steak might not be possible, but for typical picnic foods like salads, bread, a burger or hot dog, spreads, etc. these will work just fine. Also, unlike another review here, I did not find these giving off a "wood" taste, but perhaps that depends on the food these are used with. And unlike with some plastic products I have purchase from big box stores that have actually cut ME & not just my foods (seriously, don't ever do that LOL) these bamboo knives were not dangerous to my fingers & would be reasonably safer around kids (though these shouldn't be utilized as toys, despite the "sword fights" that might ensue LOL}. Being eco-concious & always looking to find ways to be a better steward of the earth, I totally appreciate that these can be tossed in the after-picnic campfire to be burned instead of tossed in a landfill OR composted in a bin. Less plastic wasted and never breaking down in the landfills. Overall, a decent product at it's price point. Would recommend for the eco-concious picnic-er.

So I've gotten tired of washing a single knife for small food prep uses - a waste of water and detergent, I was thinking. These fit in an odd place between plastic knifes and metal ones - they are a bit sturdier than some of the plastic ones (more suited for spreading, while these can actually cut some softer foods), and of course 'recyclable'. I still feel a bit guilty about 'using and tossing' them, so experiemented with rinsing (for some foods) and setting aside to dry for resuse. They work well enough for one reuse, but after that get a little fragile. Where to keep the 'stack of 100' of them is an minor issue - same as with plastic ones, tho these come in a vacuum packed bag rather than a box. I'm perfectly happy with these, at about 0.14 each?, seems about right, and don't add to recycling challenges, and are sturdy enough for most single uses. They are (just barely) strong enough for use spreading peanut butter - to give you an idea. The size is a bit smaller in length than other plastic ones, but that makes them easier to handle, and feel a bit sturdier.
