Audio is a little softer than full volume out of the radio but still crisp and loud enough to not max out the knob.

While I was excited to add this to my radio I have found that when it is plugged into my radio I am unable to hear anything coming in from other radios I have tried different cables to different headsets and I have tried not using a headset at all and as soon as I detach it from my radio I am able to hear the incoming transmissions just fine. Needless to say it is a very cheap and so I wasnt expecting much and I am sure that it is cheaply made. I may have gotten a bad one in the batch but I cant give a good review on something that never worked.

When installed on my ("waterproof") GMRS 9R, I can see a very slight gap where it contacts the radio. Not convinced it can protect from water damage. It also has a very light, cheap feel to it. But it works.

My Mom and I use our Baofeng UV-9G's to communicate when working on projects at different locations on our property. Initially, we used just the basic radio configuration. We found that to be inconvenient most of the time while working, as the radio would be left somewhere out of reach and not being able to hear what was said. We then tried an over the shoulder radio pouch and this external speaker/microphone for both of us. What an improvement. The pouch keeps the radio handy (without using a hand to hold it) and when we put the handset on the pouch strap at our shoulder, hearing and speaking is effortless. This helps by not making the radio a distraction from the task as well. Highly recommend adding this feature to your handheld radio.

Great value for the price. Built extremely well from quality durable materials. Units have very good sound quality based on the size (diameter ) of the speaker. The only short fall was that the rotating pocket clip was smooth and did not grip well. tended to slide off the surface it was attached to. Should have some more aggressive serrations to hold the mike in place. The mike clip gripping ability has to override the springiness of the coil cord. Over all for the money they are a great addition for radio convenience..
