I seem to have become addicted to diamond painting coasters...I love the more gem-like drills they use and they're very easy to take-and-make when I'm away from home. I also tend to gravitate towards the more madala-type ones, so, when I saw this set, I had to give it a try! Pros: One of the things that I thought was fun about this set was that the coasters aren't all the same shape (usually round), like most of the other sets I've gotten...within this one set, there are several different shapes! Some have scalloped edges, some have more pointy-petal edges, and some are round. I was also particularly attracted by the geometrical design on one of them (the one on the right in the middle row in my picture), which looked like it would be pretty stunning. (I haven't done it yet, so I don't know for sure, though.) I also liked that the kit included 21 different drill colors, which is more than some kits. Finally, I thought it was interesting that the kit included two sets of tools (pen, wax, and tray)....I've never seen that before in a coaster set, and thought it might make this a fun kit for a parent and child or two kids to do together! Cons: This was the only coaster kit I've ever gotten that was presented in a hangable plastic bag (I could picture them being sold hanging from a rack in a store somewhere). I find that more awkward to store away than the regular, normal little boxes are. However, I will say that each item in the bag was well packed in its own individual bag (and, in the cases of the strip of drills, in two bags, one inside the other). I'm also not a huge fan of the plastic coasters because you have to peel and stick the cork on the bottom yourself, and I'm always worried it'll be off-center. OTOH, although I tend to prefer the wood (dense cardboard?) coasters for this reason, I've read that they don't stand up as well to use over time. (I haven't had them long enough to know that first-hand, though.) All in all, though, the positives far outweighed the negatives and I look forward to doing these fun little coasters! Since I haven't done this kit yet, I can't comment on the stuff you can't tell about until you actually do the coasters, but, if I encounter any issues at that point, I'll come back and update my review (and rating, if necessary) at that point.
