My dental office recommended an Oral-B rechargeable electric toothbrush and, after reading reviews, I chose this Pro 1000 Rechargeable Toothbrush. It fits its description well. The light indicators telling you when to charge it and when it's fully charged are quite helpful, and I believe those help the battery last for a longer period of time. My husband has the 500 and always keeps his on the charger because he doesn't know when it's dying. The 3-stage brushing firmness is nice, and the features work like it says they will; the brush will stop if you brush too hard. One thing in some of the reviews I read was concern about a slippery handle. I do find that mine can be a bit slippery with the Pro 1000. The 500 has a bit of a rubbery handle, but the 1000 is a smooth, sleek handle. I'm sure that would not be too big of an issue if you keep your mouth closed the entire time you brush; unfortunately I don't. :) Even slippery, it's not insurmountable to manage. I always dry my toothbrush well, including the charging hole at the bottom, because I've found liquid can get in there at times and water will sometimes seep out of the connection where the brush head attaches; both of these cause little watery/tooth-pasty circles wherever you store your brush if you do not dry it well. I am happy with this purchase and would recommend it to others.

I had to replace my old Oral B & got this one. It works well but needs to be recharged (with twice daily use) in about 4-5 days. My old set held the charge for closer to a week. There's no "pressure" light warning on this one which was on my old one, too. Luckily the old charger base works well with the new unit. This one was a bit pricier as I paid almost as much for this than for old set of 2 that had the pressure sensor light. (One of the old toothbrushes started needing recharging every 2 days, but after 10+ years. The 2nd original still holds a charge for around 5 days. I hope this one lasts that long!)

This has my teeth feeling so much cleaner, the brand was recommended by our dentist for a family member, it came in a two pack so husband took one too. I watched them use it and thought wow that makes things a lot easier. I can tell you my teeth and gums have never felt cleaner or smoother. Just remember to use soft bristles and not to brush hard, just easily go over the teeth front and back. The color is beautiful, my favorite color and it stands alone. It holds a charge for over a week. I just decided a day and each week I put it on the charger overnight. I am sure it would last longer. Its not messy to use, its very well made and Im glad my dentist suggested it. The brush heads last 6 months, but in between I soak mine in a small cup of peroxide to clean every now and then. Great toothbrush, cleaner teeth and gums with a lot less effort and its a money saver too, when you think how many tooth brushes it replaced, dont hesitate to buy.

I LOVE this toothbrush. From the first time I used it, I felt that my mouth was so much cleaner. It is so easy to handle that it makes me want to brush my teeth. I used a spin brush and then a store brand electric brush before this and this does a better job by leaps and bounds. It's attractive, feels good in my hand, fits well in my mouth, and you can just feel it doing a good job brushing. I also love the base to store it on, and it's so much easier to change the head than on the other brands I used. Having a rechargeable battery is a big plus, too. The power is consistent and the brush does not slow down as the battery loses its charge. like the brushes with replaceable batteries did. The toothbrush heads are sturdier and last longer, too! As for the timer, I completely ignore that. It takes me longer than 2 minutes to brush my teeth if I want to pay attention and do a good job so I really don't see a need for that feature. But for those who are quick brushers, I guess it's a good feature to remind you to take more time.
