It's not bad at all

I wish the elastic part was in the front rather than the back. Because it makes the leash very difficult to use as it's constantly rubber banding back and forth and so it makes this leash (while great quality) a bit dangerous to use. I would make sure your dog doesn't pull too hard or you won't like this leash very much.

Good for kid training too!

We got my 5 yo son a puppy for Christmas. He loves walking his new puppy. However, he doesn't understand how to gently pull on the leash. He yanks it. Hard. And the poor puppy has her head and neck jerked all over. I got this leash and it has worked great. Now at least when he yanks the leash the impact is lessened due to the bungee. Good price and well made. And it works great.

Holds well against heavy tugs

This bungee leash is solid and long lasting. Our 60 pound young hyperactive dog likes to suddenly tug away from you as he jumps at something or decides to start running. This leash saves your hand and wrist joint. It stretches and contracts back nicely. The first few times it will feel like it's getting stretched longer, but that stabilizes quickly. The material is nice on the skin and solid enough to get rubbed against stuff outside. Overall very recommended for dogs who like to suddenly sprint.

Puppy-Approved!

I have been using this leash with my Scottish terrier puppy for over 2 months now, and I can verify that if it can make it through a Scottie puppy's testing, it will make it through anything. My pup loves this thing - she will track it down from wherever I have put it in order to play with it - so in her mind, it doubles as a toy...and it has more than withstood the chewing she's given it! The only issue I have with it is user error - somewhere along the line, a knot was tied in it around the bungee portion of the leash - so the elasticity from the handle to the knot is somewhat compromised. The leash is still just as strong and sturdy at the same time being lightweight enough for a puppy to play around with. I've used retractable leashes with my dogs for years, and until I received this one, I was planning on using one with my puppy as well. But this leash is the one I grab now - the hardware is sturdy and the leash itself is great quality. My dog knows when I reach for it that it's time to go outside; I'm sure she would recommend it if she could.
