I used this adapter to connect the iphone and an external SSD to a DAC for streaming music from Qobuz and playing the music from a local storage device while charging iphone if the battery power is below 30%. The sound quality seems not compromised with this light adapter. It simply works and works beautifully. Highly recommended.

Needed to transfer photos and video from phone to someone was to led how to other than airdrop. Devise works great I made a folder in thumbdrive and dumped. Glad I fou d this one.

Unit will allow charging on iPad 9th gen, but the usb ports will NOT pass data to MIDI. Get something else, this thing doesn't work.

I got this USB lightning dongle to use with my 4th gen iPad mini to be able to use a wireless mouse and keyboard with it that dont have Bluetooth connectivity. Right out of the box I was able to connect both peripherals fine without any issue. Typing from my wireless 65% mechanical keyboard is smooth with no lag, which is quite nice considering all Bluetooth keyboards I have used with the iPad previously have a split second lag on the screen. No issues with the USB wireless mouse either. Pass-through lightning charging works fine, albeit a tad slow. I plugged my iPad in to charge while it was only at 82%, and took almost 2hrs to get to 100% while it was not being used. The pass-through charging will work better to keep your device charged as you work/play on it, so if needing to charge from a low battery just plug the lightning cable directly into the device to charge quicker. Size wise the dongle is flat and compact, making it easy to carry in a bag without taking up much room. Onto my gripes with this dongle: The first thing that irks me about this dongle is that the both the peripheral receivers and the charging cable head dont fully plug into it; they only plug in about 50% of the way so the receivers/charging cable are about half exposed. While this does not or has not affected performance, its more an aesthetic nuisance to me. Another issue I recently discovered is that it will randomly stop working in between uses of the device. For example I recently took my iPad with me on vacation but not the dongle. Upon returning home and plugging the dongle back in, I couldnt get either the keyboard, mouse, or even the pass-through charging to work. I unplugged the receivers and cable multiple times, switched out charging cables, etc and simply could not get the dongle to work again. To at least test the charging function I plugged my iPad in directly with an Apple cable and that worked fine. I initially was getting ticked off that the dongle had appeared to already malfunction/break since on vacation (no one else was in the house while we were gone), but since I had taken my iPad on vacation I thought maybe something happened with it instead. So went and restarted the iPad and lo-and-behold, the dongle started working again. So not sure whats up with that and if Im going to face that problem every time I unplug the dongle. I saw some other reviewers having the same problem as well. Ultimately these 2 issues are what gave this dongle a 3-star rating. For the price its not bad, but not great either. I definitely wouldnt pay more than $15 for it, and would recommend looking for a different USB dongle instead.

I purchase to use with my Ipad. I have files that I like to use on my iPad when traveling. This was perfect for usb.
