The absolute best dye!!

Ive been using this brand for along time. It doesnt turn fabric purple when using the black dye. I dyed this sweatshirt that was blue/gray because it had weird pink bleach stains on it. I use a pot on the stove and bring it almost to a boil. Get the garment wet first. I just left it in for only a couple minutes because I didnt want it to turn super black. Worked amazingly! See photo. I wash it directly after and wash it twice to remove extra dye. The other colors Ive used work great too. I love the olive color. I wish there was a dark gray but the gunmetal is more of a navy blue gray. And the silver is pretty light! Highly recommend this brand over Rit Dye.

Easy to use, but color does not match the packaging

I ordered the Lilac shade to dye several pure white 100% cotton items. The final color of these items turned out to be a very dark blue - it's nice enough, but bears no resemblance to the color I had chosen from the representation on the packaging - a lovely deep lavender/purple color. Also, the product is too expensive for what it is.

Barely worked at all

I got this to cover some bleach spots on a black pair of pants. I followed the instructions exactly and the result was that the spots turned from light brown to medium gray. As you can see in my photo they're still extremely visible. The other leg of the pants (not pictured) had similar damage but over a much smaller area, and I had tried coloring in those spots with a black Sharpie marker. That not only resulted in much darker initial coloration, but it has held up through two or three washings so far looking much better than the results of this dye. Bluntly, this product does not work as advertised and was a complete waste of my money.

Easy & Effective

I used this with a bunch of scrap fabric I plan to use for a patchwork project. All the pieces started as white or off-white, and I got a nice gradient of colors. The key factor seems to be fiber content; the all-cottons dyed a nice deep color and the ones with some poly content were lighter (because this dye is intended for natural fibers). I even got a nice heathered or chambray type effect on one of the mixed fiber pieces, which I really like. The dye is easy to use; make sure to read the lengthier directions on their website, as the ones printed inside the package are abbreviated. I especially like the dissolvable packet; you just throw it in instead of messing with stainy loose powder. Great stuff, way better than Rit, and I've already used the black and plan to order more purple.

Easy to use

I used this to dye a wool dress. I put the dye in a tub of very hot water first. I also presoaked the dress in hot water. I then added the dress. I stirred it off and on for about half an hour. I then added some vinegar (not in directons, I'm not sure if it matters) and stirred for another 15 minutes. I drained the excess water and washe d it on gentle in cold water. It went from light grey to Crimson. It covered better than I'd hoped. There is one spot that is lighter in the light. I may dye it again dpending on if it bothers me. It worked very well, and the color turned out to be exactly as I expected.
