The first thing I like about this magic arm is the length of 11" which provides extra ability to maneuver a camera or light into place. I also prefer this arm's cut-outs at the ball heads at each end that allow for making a true 90 degree bend. Very helpful. Otherwise, this jig does everything quite according to expectations: joints are super tight and the jaws work easily. The only room for improvement I can see is the padding inside the jaws. It's certainly OK and most people will never complain, but if it were softer it would make a better grip on odd shaped objects like the flat metal piece in the photos. Overall though, I like this arm very much and it's already found a home in my photo setup.

there is no way to tighten the ball arm so you can make the end of it very snugly attached to whatever you want (thin rail, deck, etc) but the arm angle cannot be tightened so it's a bit of a weakness. Still decent overall, just cannot be subject to lots of movement or excessive weights.

The quality of very good, and I really like the clamping mechanism. It seems pretty sturdy and holds a fair bit of weight. Overall I think this is a useful item. Be sure to verify your camera has a 1/4" thread and you don't need an adapter.

I've been using this clamp and camera holder for about a month now, almost every day. It functions exactly as I would expect, and holds my camera secure at whatever angle I set it at. The day I received it. I clamped it to a background stand and move it around as needed to hold my DSLR or a light. Best thing about it. It's easy to use. Second best thing, it's very secure and I never worry about my camera.

This magic arm is so simple, and so solid, it's amazing! I've used a number of clamps and devices to mount microphones, phone mounts, cameras, etc... But this little mount is both rugged, and simple. Step 1: Attach the clamp to a pole or object Step 2: Loosen the arm pivot point. Step 3: Move/position any ball join or elbow you want Step 4: Tighten the arm pivot point I LOVE that you loosen one knob and position every part of the arm just where you want it and then tighten. I have no idea how they designed it, but it's truly magic. And pretty much everything is aluminum! Looking forward to many years of use for this rugged piece of equipment.
