Peppermint inhale DOES NOT CONTAIN PEPPERMINT

I thought the product smelled off compared to my other peppermint essential oils. Initially, I chalked it up to my recent cold. However, my throat started getting sore after using the product, so I looked deeper into it. This product contains MENTHA ARVENSIS (aka corn mint), not MENTHA X PIPERITA (aka peppermint). While I don't know anything about corn mint, I do know that I have been using my (real) peppermint oils without any issue for months before I bought this product. While initially, it seemed to help me with my congestion, my throat is now sore. Additionally, I don't feel like I get any of the anxiety reduction my peppermint gives me. It is a bit of a disappointment, as I will now have to buy authentic peppermint oil and blank inhalers to load up.

POWEFUL peppermint scent.

Most of the "inhalers" I get of this type have other ingredients added--essential oil blends, sea salt, things like that. Not that I have any problem with the sea salt variety (being the first one that worked on my migraines without making me nauseated), but this is the first one that claims to be pure peppermint oil and the scent is powerful enough to prove it. I will say, as most migraine sufferers can probably attest, that treating migraines is absolutely a case of "nothing's perfect"... indeed, while peppermint is a great way to treat them, some people who are triggered by scents in general may avoid it (and are fully justified in doing so) simply because it is such a powerful scent. For my part, though, the lack of perfection in these inhalers is this: this is obviously more portable and pocket-friendly than a diffuser but it doesn't last as long, because whatever scent-causing particles remain in your nose after use just don't compare to continuing to pump out a source of the scent. I'll chalk that up to "the technology hasn't caught up with the idea" though rather than anything that's specifically a problem with this product.

Works Well but Overpriced

I tend to get sinus headaches so I decided to try the MOX Peppermint Essential Oil Nasal Inhaler. It works great-all you have to do is take off the cap and gently inhale. Besides headaches, I think this would also work for times when you may be tired and not near a coffee machine. The peppermint scent definitely wakes me up when I smell it. I deducted two stars as this is very overpriced. For the same amount of money, or a little more, you could get an entire bottle of peppermint essential oil and just dab some on a tissue and get the same effect. While this inhaler is easy to carry in a purse or pocket, it is also easy to lose. For about $10, this is a costly item that is easily lost.
