Softest softgels ever

I did some research on CoQ10 as part of this review and here are the big takeaways. Good: 200mg is a good dosage, most articles I found recommended between 100 & 200 mg. Made in the USA in a certified facility is a huge plus. Confusing: CoQ10 powder is known as ubiquinone, so saying this is the raw ingredient is a bit misleading. The internet says ubiquinone powder is made from meat, fish, seed oils, vegetables and dietary supplements. And the ingredients say this is vegan. So, if the ingredients are vegan this would lead me to believe that the powder ought to be derived from the remaining vegan items of seed oils, vegetables and dietary supplements, but not meat or fish. The soft gels on the other hand are "vegan, gluten-free, non-GMO, and do not contain wheat, eggs, soy, milk, tree nuts, peanuts, fish, shellfish, or sesame." As for the benefits I honestly can't speak to them but since I've been taking them, I feel like I'm on the right path to better health. Of note, these are the softest, soft gels I've encountered in my life. The pills are long, easy to swallow and very easy to bend. I can seriously bend this in half with two fingers and they don't show any signs of splitting.

The scoop on CoQ10

I have always asked my health care professional before taking any new dietary supplement but CoQ10 isnt new to me, Ive been taking it for years. But curiosity pointed me today to one of the most trusted sources I could think of, the Mayo Clinic and I turned to them to learn more about CoQ10, its benefits and its potential dangers. THE GOOD NEWS Basically its an antioxidant generally found in meat, fish and nuts and most people probably get enough of it that way. But as the body ages, it needs more. I wont list the health claims they make about it because Im not a doctor but they are not only available from countless sources, in the case of this supplement many of the claims have been verified as scientific fact. In other words, taking supplements such as these soft gels over time can be good for you. The key words here are over time, you cant just take a bottle and call it good, any vitamin product has to be taken over many months, even years, to actually do anything. CAUTIONS There may be some mild side effects for some people but most of them are not much of a concern except one, and this one is often overlooked. According to the Clinic taking it might make blood-thinning drugs less effective. This could increase the risk of a blood clot. So refer back to the way I started this its always a good idea to check with your own health care professional to see how any supplement may affect you, positively and possibly negatively YES NO MAYBE For me this is a yes, the brand has been around for a while and although this is a relatively expensive supplement, a one months supply for thirteen bucks isnt going to break the bank.

Good Ingredients

Nice product, I like the brand and ingredients. Should have a larger size though. I haven't noticed any side effects or issues. I am not certain if this is helping or not I do feel it's having some sort of effect, I just can't be sure. I take numerous other supplements so effectiveness is hard to measure.

Effective but

After looking into a lot of research and speaking with my OB I started taking coq10. I havent noticed any difference in my mood or apparent physical changes since using these. These softgels are indeed soft but larger than ones I have tried in the past. And these are a bit pricy too. Aside from that I havent had any issues.

Fine, but not my first choice CoQ10 supplement

I ordered 2 CoQ10 supplements here to compare rather than trying to evaluate one alone. This one is 200mg CoQ10 and contains inactive ingredients derived from rice bran, tapioca starch, sunflower lecithin, and rosemary. The other (on the left in the picture) also has 200mg CoQ10 along with vitamin E, flaxseed oil, phytosterols, PQQ, and black pepper extract. This one is currently $0.37/day, the other is a larger bottle that works out to less per day for a higher bottle price. This capsule is unusually long and thin, which I found harder to swallow than the usual smaller oval ones. However, if you need to avoid any additional ingredients that are in other supplements, this one should be fine.
