Bought this as I needed a baseplate for one of my tripods so I would not have to switch the mounting plate of my camera on a gimbal. This product allows me to clip off the camera off the gimbal, onto a tripod in seconds. Build quality is decent enough and the locking mechanisms are trustworthy.

Rock solid, fantastic QR system

My needs may have been somewhat unique. I purchased a gimbal that wouldn't quite balance with my Panasonic G85 micro 4/3 camera. It was a hair too light. This resolved my issue perfectly. Not only does it balance perfectly, but the place allows for easy setup and takedown. The adjustments are precise, and hold perfectly tight. Very high quality product!

An excellent video plate and clamp combo

A solidly built and cleanly machined QR video plate and clamp set. The QR plate is a standard 50mm wide at the base of the dovetail video plate. It is suitably slotted for the safety latch on the plate, so switching gear is easy and secure, no worries about anything sliding free inadvertently. The clamping plate is similarly robust, with a good set of 1/8th and 3/32nds threaded holes to attach the plate to the tripod head or other rig component. The spring loaded clamping lever can be pulled out about an inch if needed to clear the mounted gear. The safety catch is effective and easily accessible. Overall, an excellent bit of kit for a very modest price.

Detachable tray mounted on my camera. Very convenient to use, super time saver! There is a small security button prevents the falling of the camera. By pressing the button, you release the tray (with the camera) from the slide holder. Very useful and good quality little gear at a nice price. Great!

Does the job, good workmanship

My manfrotto plates from my 2 tripod heads fit this shoe just fine. But the plate which comes with this shoe does not fit my 2 tripod heads. It's too big. I don't really care, because I have plates and the shoe is the important thing for me. The shoe is nice and is working well atop my stabilizer. Seems solid. I love the ratcheting action of the tightening lever. You can turn it a little way, then pull it out (spring loaded) and set it back in place to tighten more. Like a ratchet. It would be 5 stars if the plate worked in my other tripods.
