I recently purchased a TOKANI open-ear wireless sports headphone. Being a swimmer I soon discovered that it was waterproof and sweatproof, and in all other areas, it has exceeded my expectations in every way. Not only does it look great, but the sound quality is simply fantastic. The first thing that struck me about this Bluetooth headset was its design with a sleek, modern, premium feel. It's clear that a lot of thought went into the aesthetics, and it's a headset that you'll be proud to wear. However, the real magic begins when you turn this headset on. The sound quality is nothing short of exceptional. The audio is crisp, clear, and well-balanced, delivering an immersive listening experience. Whether I'm listening to my favorite music, taking calls, or watching videos, the headset delivers a rich and vibrant sound that truly enhances the content I'm engaging with. I take daily walks usually around 2 hours, listening to podcasts as I walk - and I use a variety of headphones throughout the year. I really like the open-ear bone conduction design of these headphones. I also own the Shockx open-ear headphones which at the present time cost 2-4 times as much as this product. In addition to the open-ear models, I use an over-the-ear model in winter and I carry earbuds in my pack as a backup/spare battery. What's good: + very comfortable, fits well for short or long hair, doesn't rub or dislodge with glasses or hat (see pictures); round transducer makes the angle they sit at very flexible and can fit any cranial anatomy. I think these would be more adaptable to head shapes than the shockx. + sound is very clear (voice or music), on par with the more expensive shockx; the "crackling" that can occur at high volumes is minimal and also very similar to the shockx. + very secure, these do not easily dislodge even if you bump them - I wore them while crawling around under a car doing repair work and they worked well even as I leaned on them, rubbed against hard surfaces, etc. + the controls are moisture-resistant, sealed by a single piece flex membrane. + bluetooth pairing is easy and stable - I've experienced zero issues after about 40 hours of use What could be improved: - battery life is good but not as good as the shockx - I got about 18 hours which is fine if you charge them every few days; the bluetooth connection lets you know the battery charge percent so this is easy to manage. - since the controls are bunched together, you must feel for the middle button to pause (see picture)... this is probably the most often used function for me as I may stop to talk to people. The shockx put the pause control all on its own on the left ear, much easier to quickly activate (but also not sealed as well as these controls are against moisture, so could be a tradeoff). That said, I had no trouble activating the pause function on these once I got the hang of it. Summary: excellent value compared to more expensive products, and you don't give up anything in terms of comfort or sound quality. Pros: - dont move around/fallout like earbuds - sweat proof. Ive broken so many headphones because Im sweaty -perfect for running outside since they sit on the outside of your ear you can still hear traffic/ birds/ nature - my ears dont hurt after runs since the music isnt directly in my ear canal - the battery life is pretty decent (at least 4-5 hours) Cons: - since they sit on top of your Ears you cant really wear them with sunglasses or a hat - the sound quality isnt excellent but its clear and loud enough IMO Honestly these are great headphones if youre looking for workout headphones that you can wear outside/ wont break from sweat. Ive had mine for a year so far with moderate use and theyre still going strong. Update: after about 3 years these broke- which I consider pretty good given how much I abused them. One ear bud snapped (my fault- in my luggage) and I actually super glued it together and got about 4 months additional wear, but then the other side fizzled out and stopped working. Im knocking one star off only because the volume on replacement that I just bought isnt working properly. the left earbud side is only about 50% as loud as the right ear. I am returning and trying another brand, but overall I would still recommend these- I just wish the quality control was a bit better.
