My 11, 14 and 16 year old love any type of building blocks. They have all pretty much passed the regular sized building blocks and love these tiny/micro blocks. I purchased this panda for my 11 year old because she is just getting into the micro blocks and loves a challenge but not too much of a challenge. This set only has about 1300 pieces so a good start for her. It's a little overwhelming when you open the box and only see the black and white blocks. Your eyes go a little cross eyed. They are in multiple bags though, per steps, so that's a bonus. The instruction manual is pretty easy to read and understand. My daughter did have issues with a few steps but we were able to look at it together and make sure things were together correctly. This does not have a base to start the build with so you have to be patient when starting out. Make sure you are seated at a surface that won't easily get bumped. This will be the hardest part but once you get though about a dozen steps you should be golden. My kids always keep a pair of tweezers close to them when working with the micro blocks because they often have pieces that need to go somewhere where it's too small to get fingers into. This piece is also hollow but you would never know it once built. It is very sturdy and solid. This is a fun little piece for anyone that loves Legos and block sets. It's more for older kids, probably 10+, or someone that's looking for a challenge. Also great for adults, as I love them. And the price is great too. Definitely a fun and cute set!

Micro bricks can be challenging, especially when starting out, but the finished product just seems to have so much more detail than the larger brick builds and this panda is no exception. The bricks are TINY - each pip is about 2 mm so you can imagine that they are very small. At first, it is a little bit of a challenge to get the bricks together but once started, it goes much more smoothly. This kit is perfect for anyone who loves pandas and puzzles and enjoys a challenge - but not too much of a challenge. After all, it is only 1,325 pieces. My daughter is working on a micro brick kit that has close to 6,000 pieces, a kit that one might enjoy when these smaller kits become too easy.
