Installed in car: 2008 Lexus IS I was easily able to replace an old cigarette lighter in my car with this. No need for an extra conversion attachment anymore to charge my phone.

I absolutely loathe cables strewn about the cabin while going down the road. This made it possible for me to fit the stereo port in the console of the car while retaining the ability to remove the console for service. So far it's survived several thousand miles of road trips and a couple of head changes.

These lose data connection with very little vibration. I would not recommend these at all.

I am building a photo booth and I needed to setup a connection for the USB wiring that would allow quick connect/disconnect for the USB wiring between the upper cabinet and the base control box where the printer will be connected. I was able to install the connector inside the column tubing and worked very well.

I built a DIY portable power station and added a Bluetooth stereo. The stereo has multiple inputs on the rear of the unit. I decided to get a couple of panel mount adapters for easy access to the ports. I got a 3.5mm AUX and this USB-A 3.0 panel mount connector. This mount is very easy to install. You drill a whole, pop it in, and tighten the nut. The mount feels well made. It came with a rubber cover. The cover helps protect it from dust and weather. I'm glad it came with 2, so I have an extra one for a future project. This is an item DIYers should have in their toolbox.
