I have a 16x32ft rectangle above ground pool. These dont have straights sides as you get a bend from top to ground. This means side skimmer leans slightly forward, which results in this arm dipping under the water well below where it was supposed to be. I made it work anyway. I cut it & put a bracket so I could insert into skimmer, and swivel arm up/down to put where I needed for it to work. This is designed for pools that have sides straight up/down, not leaning. Would work fine for most belowground pools & round aboveground pools.

Our above-ground pool skimmer opening has a hinged door that prevents debris from floating back into the pool when the pump is off. Despite the hinged door near the opening, I thought there would be enough area for the bracket to grip, but the fit is tenuous and in a short while everything dislodges and floats away. Even when it was briefly in place only some of the floating insects were guided into the skimmer despite the extender being almost 2 feet long! I also found the top rails of the pool interfere with easily inserting the extender into the bracket. The directions were very good and the bracket does have a good range to fit various size openings, but this had to be returned.

It works as it should in trapping debris into skimmer but why 4 stars is that it has the ability to "swivel" when removing or repositioning which tend to loosen if not paying attention. Otherwise a good product for its purpose to increase "Bernoulli's Principle of Hydrodynamics" within the pool's flow. Saves me maybe 40-50% less of daily scooping without it especially in the Florida when "struggle is real" with removal of debris as like snowblowing/shoveling snow in the Northern states.

I really like the product. My only complaint is the threads aren't long enough to secure tightly in my skimmer. So I put in a plastic block below the bottom thread to fill in the gap and it works great. I've been recommending it to my Swimming Pool Compadres! They should really build these into Skimmers in the first place in 2023!
