Smells really good, no headaches

This Citronella Java Essential oil smells really good. It is stronger than other Citronella oils I have tried which could be due to it being Citronella Java vs. Ceylon. My other Citronella essential oils do not specify which version of Citronella it is. So far using this for the past few weeks I have experienced no headaches like I do with cheaper oils. I know citronella can also be used as a bug repellant but I use it mainly for the scent so I can't speak to how effect this would be used for that purpose. This oil has a lot number which I've noticed usually is only on bottles from companies that care about their oils from batch to batch. My only complaint, and this is a minor one that I can forgive given how well this works, is that there is no English on the bottle or packaging. Perfect for insect-repelling candles

You are likely already familiar with the scent of citronella if you've used insect repellent or bug repelling candles. The latter is exactly what I've been using this essential oil for. I like to make my own candles and this is perfect for the outdoors ones. Sometimes essential oils don't have a strong smell, especially in a candle. However, this oil is very potent. You don't need much and it will overpower other scents. This is great because I can use less. Puressentiel is a reputable brand based out of France. You know you are getting good quality with their oils.

Has a nice lemony mixed with the Citronella

This has a pleasant lemony scent mixed with the citronella, so much easier to tolerate than plain citronella. I put a drop or two on some cotton balls and placed them around my front porch, and it kept the bugs away. No more slapping my body and scratching bug bites. Next I applied a couple of drops to my shoe laces as a bug deterrent. Great for indoors to help cover up unwanted scents. Recommend, especially in the summer.

They will smell you coming

Citronella is known in the US as an insect repellent - it relieves the itching from mosquito bites by preventing them in the first place. This has a very strong citronella scent, which carries far. (I would put it on my shoelaces, not on my skin. YMMV). The label of the bottle is in multiple languages, and has what I think is an organic symbol from an Asian country, though not a USDA symbol.

It's terrific, but a lot more expensive than my normal brand

I go the small bottle (0.3 oz) of citronella. It's organic, which is very important to me. This is obviously the good stuff - smells great, pure, no additives, not watered down. My only complaint is that it's quite a bit more expensive than my normal brand. This is only 1/3 oz, yet they charge as much as I usually pay for 1oz. But I use a lot of citronella for homemade natural bug spray, so I get the 4 oz - and I often pay around $17 for 4oz of organic. It is much more cost effective to get the larger bottle from other brands. But if you're looking for a tiny bottle, to travel with etc, then this is great stuff.
