Ive always loved listening to music while Im working at my desk or working out at the gym. I have the Apple AirPods and have grown very used to using those for both of these tasks but I dont like the fact Im too isolated from my surroundings. For example, coworkers are unable to speak to me because they dont see I have headphones in ear, or there are times where Im at the gym and dont realize someones came into the building behind me. Another setback is that having something jammed in my ear for long hours it starts to ache. I wanted to give the open air idea a try and at the price point I felt that this was a very low risk proposition. If I love them great, if not then I didnt spend close to $200 for a pair of Bluetooth earbuds I will leave in my drawer forever. Anyway, on to the meat and potatoes, I absolutely love the open air speaker concept. I am wearing these for hours while Im working, after a quick top off I wear them when I go on a walk in a hiking path and can hear bikers flying past me with plenty of warning time, I also bring them to the gym where it sits firmly in place while Im working out. The sounds are not as fluid, as say in ear speakers or a solid company like Bose, but these do the trick. Mainly if youre a huge fan of bass youre going to find these and maybe all open air speakers sound a bit flat. But it is a different surreal experience when youre listening to a song real deep and then my wife walks up to me and asks me something and I can hear her voice while also hearing my songs. This gives me a chance to lower the volume or pause the song to conduct a conversation without having to remove the AirPods from my ear and have to hold them somewhere because I dont have my case nearby. Definitely worth the money, now Ill just need to see how durable these things are after a few more weeks.

This is my first air conduction headphones purchase, and Im honestly impressed. Im used to either traditional earbuds or noise-canceling over-ear phones, so this was a new experience for me. Here are my impressions: Very comfortable. Since this sits gently over your ear and not inside it or covering it completely, this is something you can barely tell youre wearing if youre not paying attention to it. Its lightweight and no matter how much I shook my head around, it did not move one bit. This would be *perfect* for runners or people doing a lot of physical activity while listening to music. Sound quality is very good. You get a full range of low and high tones with great clarity for an inexpensive audio accessory. I listened to several types of music and spoken word podcasts and was satisfied with the quality on everything. Since this is basically a speaker hovering over the opening of your ear, this is not the sort of thing youd wear in a setting where privacy or staying quiet is a concern. Others around you can hear it clearly if the room is very quiet. But by the same token, if someone wants to have a conversation with you while youre wearing this, you dont need to take it off or pause your music or even turn it town if you want to hear them, in most cases. I see this as helpful around the house or out on a walk or run, just not in a quiet classroom or a library. You can remain situationally aware of your surroundings while going about your business, and carry on a normal conversation with someone else without shouting or needing them to shout for you to hear them clearly, all while keeping your music going. ZeeBooth is asking me to rate its noice cancellation quality, so Id give it two stars on that metric in the text here, but its not meant to be a noise-cancelling headset, so Im leaving that one blank on the review stars. Ill say battery life is good, although I have not used it enough to drain it completely yet. But I got a couple hours of use out of it straight out of the box, and it was 80% full according to my phone when I first powered it up. A couple hours later, it was still reading 70% on my battery widget. When I first opened it up, I was a little confused that there were two charging cables. My knee-jerk reaction to that was wow thats stupid, you have to charge the two sides separately??? But thats incorrect. They just give you an extra charging cable (and the user guide mentions this), which is a really nice move on their part because this requires an unconventional charging cable. Thats probably the only ding I can think of on the design here - would prefer to make it work with standard USB C or wireless charging, but if youre going to force a proprietary charging format, providing two cables out of the gate is a very nice move so you can have a backup or keep one in the two most frequent places youll use it. Overall - Id definitely recommend this for anyone who has comfort issues with earbuds or over-ear headphones. Or for people who have a hard time with earbuds fitting them properly - whether they fall out a lot or are too big, etc - because this hangs perfectly over the top of your ear. Its not super adjustable, so this is a one size fits most sort of situation, but it did fit me perfectly without issue. The user manual says to adjust the fit when you put it on, but I honestly couldnt find any way to move or rotate the speaker pods in any permanent way. There is some flex in it, but it just sort of bounces back to normal if you try to move it. So although you could get a more immersive experience if you can situate it in a way that it fully fills your outer ear area, I dont think its all that adjustable. wasnt an issue for me though. In my case, I tried it out and then passed it along to our 15-year old daughter because she has a hard time finding earbuds she likes (and shes prone to losing them). Since these are attached to one another by the band that wraps around the back of your head, I'm confident we wont have that issue with this one. Everybody wins!

I have owned and used a number of wireless ear and headphones over the years -- going all the way back to Plantronics Back Beat Go's, Earins, Trelabs, Galaxy Lives, Cambridge Audios and Apple AirPods. Honestly, it's been a thing with me and I've spent way too much money over the years chasing my wireless grail, especially for air travel and exercise situations. When I was offered the opportunity to try out Purity Air Open Ear Headphones, I honestly wasn't expecting much at that price point. Oh boy, was I wrong. The Puritys (sp?) are easily the most comfortable ear phones I've used. They just float above your ears but always remain snug enough to stay in place. Some serious thought has gone into the design and fabrication of the band connecting the two ear pieces, that's all I can say. Easy to put on, easy to take off, no interim adjustments needed. I was also really surprised at the sound quality. It is really outstanding -- good sound reproduction, deep bass, accurate highs. My guess is that the extra space in the earpieces have allowed Purity to use drivers that are larger than normal compared earphones that fit in your ear, and additional size definitely sounds like it in terms of easy and accuracy of reproduction. They also have plenty of volume and I had no difficulty answering phone calls with them. And as a bonus, all the sound reproduction goodness coexists effortlessly with the ability to hear ambient sounds around you and maintain situational awareness. So far battery life seems great and I am look forward to using these on a regular basis for walking around the neighborhood with my dog, where situational awareness is important. Two small niggles. First, the controls could be a little bigger, especially if you're a less than graceful male with big fingers. They're not awful. They could just be larger. Hopefully the next version will have bigger controls. Second, the earphones use a proprietary cable to charge. The good part is that the cable uses gold contacts that eliminate any penetrations in the Purity's shell. Put they're proprietary, so you can't use a USB-C or micro-USB cable. One more cable to carry around -- although thoughtfully two cables are provided with each purchase. Overall, highly recommended if you're looking for something that's comfortable, secure, has good sound and you aren't likely to loose down a drain or other hazard, and all at a very reasonable price.
