The product was wonderful.

Way back in the 1960's, these Sandpaper Sharpeners were critical to my drafting and drawing skills. They were as important as my eraser shield and drafting brush. Basically its a number of sandpaper sheets that are stapled to a small wood paddle and used to put a specific shape on the point of your pencil. Having just the right shape defines the width of the line you wish to draw. A fine sharp point, a blunt, or even a wedge. Everything from drawing fine line to a heavier, or even a flat for shading. The sandpaper sharpener is the tool to have. My old 60's pad had the 220-grit paper, padded on one end and then glued and stapled to a thin pine handle. The technique hasnt changed much over the past sixty years and these new sharpeners use a material similar to Masonite. Twelve sheets of fine-grit sandpaper are fastened to the roughly 6-1/4 x 1 inch handle, with staples used at both ends of the 4 x 1-1/8 inch sandpaper pad. Economical, easy to use and certainly long-lived, (I still have one from the 70's). These are great for any artist using pencil, lead-holder, chalk or pastels. I was both surprised and pleased to see this product still being offered on today's market. They are good quality and low-priced. Excellent tool if you are a sketch artist.
