Solid product at a good price

Admittedly, smoke tubes are all pretty much the same, but this one is solidly constructed at a good price. The little roll of aluminum foil thats included as a bonus is a little silly, but fans of smoking and grilling can never have too much aluminum foil. So, thanks to the manufacturer for the bonus! I filled and lit the tube (with a little propane kitchen torch), and the extra smoke has added to my enjoyment of my pellet smoker. In my view, anyone with a pellet smoker should also have one or two smoke tubes.

I love using the Traeger Grill to cook and smoke just about anything that we can throw on the grill. Sometimes, it's nice to have extra smoke with certain meats and fish. I ordered the 304 Premium Stainless Steel Smoke Tube to give me the heavy smoking flavor when needed. The tube is well built and the perforations are fairly smooth on the inside, which makes cleaning out the ash easier using the included bottle style brush.

This smoking tube has solid construction. You'd need to be pretty abusive to damage it. I'm a little lost on the accessories though. The brush is too short to reach everywhere for cleaning. The S hooks... I can hook the opening, but the radius of the bend does not match the hole pattern of the tube so you cannot hang from any other point easily. In use, the tube works well for generating smoke. The combustion process does generate heat, so if you're cold smoking you need to take that into consideration. Otherwise, light the pellets (or chips, or, if you're brazen, sawdust) and get a decent ember going. Knock off the flame if there is one, and let it smolder. You can putz around with airflow to get more or less smoke, or just let it do its thing. This smoking tube is only as complex as you make it.
