Great for aggressive chewers!

At last! A dog toy advertised as for aggressive chewers that actually lived up to its description! It took Chia 3 entire days to finally get the squeaker out - that is a first. She was lowkey kind of mad that she couldn't annihilate it within 15 minutes like she usually does, LOL. She did pierce the fabric and rip out the eyes and tail, but the material was thick enough that it took 3 days of constantly working at it to break it down for a big enough hole to pull out the stuffing. Once she got the stuffing out, it was a matter of time getting the squeaker out. Even though she doesn't want anything more to do with it now that the squeaker is out, she got 3 days of enjoyment and distraction while I was gone at work. I work away from home and am gone for the better part of the day, so this gave her something to do and stave off boredom while I was gone for almost an entire week. That was worth it to me!

Durable chew toy for out pup.

We have two dogs. One is a Lab and the other is a Malamute. Out Lab does not get into chew toys at all but our Malamute loves them. Some he takes and shreds into pieces and others he keeps to play with. He can be a very aggressive chewer at times. This little hippo is pretty durable and doesnt look like one he would be able to shred very easily. It has a pretty tough fabric that it is made from and has a lot of texture. There is a squeaker inside it but, but unless its a loud one, he really doesnt care for them. The squeaker in this one is not a loud one at all so its good for us. He played it for a long while yesterday and didnt even cause it any harm. Looks like this toy is good one for him. Its roughly 12 inches long and is a good size for him. A pretty well made toy.

Maybe if you have a senior dog or one with few teeth

I have a two year old Boston Terrier. He chewed this up in a few hours. This toy didn't make it to bedtime before we had to pitch it in the trash. Overall I have to say this is a nice toy, but definitely not a strong toy and not indestructible. It shouldn't be marketed as such. As a regular toy it's fine, as a toy for chewers, don't waste your time or money.

Not for aggressive chewers.

My dog loves this squeaky hippo. It lasted at least a half an hour before she chewed out the squeaker. She still loves it although she has chewed all the stuffing out.

Cute and Tough!

Our beagle is a stuffy-shredder. He loves all his squeaky toys, but expresses that love by enthusiastically ripping the limbs off and chewing off ears, tails...whatever he can get hold of. So far, this one is holding up surprisingly well! The little felt tusks and ears are mostly gone, but the head, body, legs are tail are still there. I only wish the color was darker, as it is starting to look a little gross...not a problem we often have, since most stuffed toys are ripped to bits by now.
