Fun fact: My dad worked on some of the special FX in David Lynch's Dune (1984) back in the day. And he used to have the original version of this figure (and some of the others shown on the back). But, during hard times, he had to sell it. When I was offered this through the ZeeBooth Vine Reviews Program, I immediately said "yes!" I gave it to my dad. He said it was just like having his original back, but in Brand New condition. I'd say that's a 5-star review from him! (And, therefore, from me as well!!) If you liked these toys back in the day, or just want something fun to celebrate Dune's 40th anniversary this year (2024), then these are a nice pick! :D

This figure is a real trip down memory lane, capturing MacLachlan's youthful intensity with a sculpt that, while not hyper-realistic, definitely gets the vibe right. You've got the tousled brown hair, the steely blue eyes, and that perfectly furrowed brow that says, "Spice? I hardly know her!" (Sorry, couldn't resist.) Movement's a bit on the limited side, with just five points of articulation (shoulders, hips, and head). But hey, who needs fancy footwork when you've got the Kwisatz Haderach destiny on your shoulders, right? Plus, it comes with a couple of neat accessories to spice things up, like a tiny Crysknife and a Paul-sized Ornithopter that looks ready to take flight. The packaging is where things get a littleinteresting. The card art's bursting with bright colors and Dune iconography, but there's something about it that feels almost like a prototype. Like they were still tinkering with the design before sending it out into the world. It's definitely eye-catching, but maybe not quite as polished as some other ReAction figures I've seen.
First time getting any Super7 products and as an elder millennial this really reminds me of a lot of the action figures growing up. The build quality is pretty decent and the action figure itself is charmingly retro. It's a little pricier than I would expect a 4" action figure to be, but honestly I think it's worth it in this case for a fan of the Dune franchise. Packaging was in good condition for me.
I've had tiny Kyle MacLachlan on my desk for the last week or so, and he's been a great office companion. Though I haven't taken it out of the packaging (I refuse, like most ordering this) but the sculpt is decent quality with an above-average paint job. I was also very lucky in that mine arrived without any bends or damage to the card-stock back.
