I've had cats in the past with teeth issues later in life, so I decided to try to prevent those problems with my current cat, who is 2.5 years old. I thought these wipes would be a good way to keep his teeth cleaner. To open the container, you need to remove a plastic strip. When closing it, make sure you "feel" the snap close, or the wipes will dry out. The smell is very mildeven my cat didn't react much to it. While he wasn't thrilled about getting his teeth cleaned and tried pulling away when I started, he didn't hiss or try to injure me, which is a positive sign. Naturally, he would prefer I never do this again, but that's just how cats are. After cleaning, the wipe had some residue on it, indicating it does work to some degree. I'm not sure if it's only removing the most recent build-up or if it's also taking off older build-up. Regardless, any removal is beneficial. My cat didn't immediately go drink water or eat something afterward, suggesting he wasn't completely grossed out by it. Overall, these wipes are pretty good if you can get your cat or dog to tolerate them. They're a convenient way to keep up with daily teeth cleansing. However, if your pet already has severe teeth issues, these wipes probably won't be sufficient.

The product looks just like the pictures on the site, and my wife and I enjoy making spooky noises at each other while curling our fingers before rustling up the cat. The cat is unimpressed, but he also resists ANY attempt at external hygiene, so thats not on the wipes. I can usually get his fangs without a fight, but getting the other teeth is a gamble. If your kitty is docile or trained for this sort of thing from kitten hood, youll probably be fine. If they are spicy, the swabs are thick enough to (hopefully) keep your skin intact. Be cautious sticking ANYTHING into a cats mouth. They probably wont humor you. The swabs seem to work well- we get slight yellowish discoloration on the surface, which I hope is plaque. Until I convince him to start flossing, this is probably the most my cat will let me do.

Each was saran-wrapped and also had a plastic strip to peel off of the top to ensure it stayed secure and closed during shipping. I used one wipe right after it was delivered, and it was easy to use. I should say that ease of use may depend on your particular pet, and if they don't mind being handled near their face and mouth area. I didn't notice much difference in my girls teeth (I have a cat), but I have only used it once, so I hope to see more of a difference as I continue to use them. I noticed that it did look like the wipe removed some residue from her teeth (it was not white when I was done), so I am optimistic about results in the long term.
