With osteoarthritis in my thumb CMC joints (both, but right is worse), I've been evaluating every brace or guard I can find. Hoping for good as new, of course, but recognizing that it's not going to happen. This is about as good as anything I've yet found, and the price is absolutely right. I wore it on a bike ride, fit tightly under cycling gloves, and was able to brake and shift with minimal discomfort. Then I wore it under work gloves for a fairly vigorous session in the garden, again with good results. And I didn't wake up in pain that night. A good choice.

I ordered this thumb splint to replace an older version/different brand that I had as the materials were very stiff and rigid, and often resulted in my skin being irritated after wearing it for long periods of time. This splint is WONDERFUL! It's made of what feels like neoprene and the splint portion on the thumb is sturdy and comfortable - the brace overall is very flexible and soft, while offering an excellent level of support. The brace can be worn on either hand, so you do not have to order a specific fit - and I love that I don't have to keep two on hand in the event that I need to alternate wearing it on either hand. This brace is an excellent value and it feels like high quality, and the velcro is strong and doesn't require any retightening or adjusting throughout the day. I highly recommend, and I will absolutely purchase from this brand again!

This thumb brace is one of the more comfortable braces I've tried for wrist and/or thumb pain. It's made of some kind of polyester fabric with a netting overlay (in the palm and back of the hand mostly) that breathes and gives for comfortable wearing. The thumb portion has a stay of some sort sewn into the outer portion of the thumb to restrict the extension of the thumb outward from the hand. There is room for a little movement but not as much, and the pain in my hand lessened almost immediately. This is telling me that I've been overextending my thumb and possibly aggravating carpal tunnel/nerves. There is a small velcro strap that circles the upper portion of the thumb and helps keep the brace from 'walking' its way off the hand if the wrist strap isn't tight or works loose. There are 2 other velcro straps - one around the mid portion of the hand and another around the wrist. These secure the fit of the brace and help it stay where you want it to. The cost of this makes it a good value and it has been effective in forcing me to give my thumb and wrist a break from overstrain. I can type with it unhindered too.

I have bad arthritis in my hands and it is especially bad in my thumbs and CMC joint, so I have tried lots of braces, but this is by far my favorite. There is only one size, and I have large hands, so I was surprised that it fits me so well. Here's my overview: Pros Has metal strips that go on both sides of the thumb joints and go down past the wrist, giving more stability The thumb covering stops right under my top thumb knuckle/joint, so I can still use the thumb, while keeping the rest of the thumb completely stable and immobile The fabric of the brace and straps does not attract and hold pet hair, which is a huge plus when you have 3 cats The brace comes down to cover and fully support my wrist, many CMC braces don't support the wrist too My hand does not become as hot and sweaty in it as it does in other braces Cons The only con I see is that if you have Shorter thumbs, the thumb part may feel too long for you Overall, for my larger hands, I find this perfect, and highly recommend it.
