There are other sleeves, on the market, to protect your lighter in your pack or pocket. These are a fraction of the price and are much lighter with a smaller footprint. The fit is snug (a good thing) and I tested them in a bowl of water and there were no air leaks. My only complaint is it is tough to get the cover off to use the lighter. I'm not deducting points because that is part of the seal keeping the lighter safe so I take it as a trade-off between a strong seal and easy opening. My in-home tests have all been positive. If this holds true in the field, I will be buying a few more.

Bought these on a whim. I by a lot of bushcraft type stuff and the big name brands are crazy expensive. These are easy to use, work well and in my opinion a great buy. I don't know if they will hold up to the test of time but for the money, I don't care.

This does what it said. Creates a water proof seal and when you take off the cap the lighter strikes up without a hitch. Great value if you want a simple way to waterproof a bic. I would buy again.

I'm a prepper, and a camper - always looking for a good, low-cost option. These are roughly 1/5 the cost of an Exotac sleeve (AND you get 2/pkg!) - so, a great deal for preppers who are filling out multiple kits or packs. PROS: 1) You can get 5 of these sleeves for the price of 1 Exotac sleeve!! 2) VERY tight fit between lighter and sleeve, & sleeve and cap. 3) Sleeve adds a little bulk (size) to lighter in the pocket - not much; best current answer for pocket carry, or small size in kits/packs. 4) With sleeve - lighter floats well, is waterproofed, & won't discharge. Trade-offs: 1) Exotac = better waterproofing & floating - with LOTS of extra bulk. 2) Exotac offers slightly better overall protection - at 5 TIMES the cost!
