Overall, this is a sturdy pet feeding bowl and holder. I'm satisfied with the product and would buy it again. The bolts, plate, and frame of the holder are nicely welded together. The bowl is quality stainless steel and deep enough to hold food or water. No issues with corrosion, flaking, or denting after several months of use and regular cleaning. My only complaint is that the two bolts on the holder are a bit too long (and slightly "sharp") for my usage. However, I can see how their long length would be handy for other applications. The rough edges were easily covered with caps I picked up at Ace Hardware for about $1. Though, they still pose a concern in my home. I use this system to hang a bowl of food on the outside of my medium-sized dog's wire crate, at a height that's comfortable for him. I mainly bought this to keep his bowl off the floor and in a fixed place. My dog has a bad habit of flinging his bowl around when he's feeling excited or feisty... which is usually the case at meal time. I also have a small dog that will try to compete with him for the larger bowl of food. This system allows me to mount the bowl just out of the smaller dog's reach. It also prevents the mindless humans in my home from tripping over the bowl, no matter how obscure of a place I try to place it. It's also nice not to have to stoop as low or search under furniture when collecting all of my dogs' bowls during meal times. (I have multiple dogs - all who like to hide their bowls after eating.) This system is just an all around win in my household. I prefer this product's design over the holder & bowl that came with my dog's medium-sized crate. With the other design (the one that came with the crate), the frame has an opening that you have to "pop" the bowl in/out of... basically, the frame "grips" the bowl like prongs. It's a total hassle to deal with and usually leads to spills. Plus, the bowl that came with the crate is pretty shallow and has edges that taper outwards, making it useless at holding water. It's not a practical system for people with physical limitations/disabilities. This product is far better than the one that came with the crate - with only one exception (and really it's only if you're using this product to install on a wire crate). This bowl holder is very easy to install and stays put. The two bolts that protrude from the back are fairly long, which allows it to be installed on a variety of fixtures, such as crates, kennels, fences, and other types of posts made of metal, plastic, wood, or other materials of various depths. As I mentioned, the bolts are just too long for MY intended application, but they're not necessarily a design flaw and they're not a total deal breaker either. Since I hang my dogs' food bowls on the outside of their crates, the bolts inevitably point towards the inside. All of the holders that came with the crates have bolts with rounded ends, perfectly sized for hanging on that particular crate. Unfortunately, my medium-sized dog is a clumsy, odd ball; and I worry he'll manage to hurt himself on the longer bolts of this product. (Note: I'm not an overly cautious dog owner. Research English Bull Terriers and you'll understand my dillema.) The bolts are fixed on this product, so I can't just switch them out. Hanging the bowl inside of the crate is not ideal, and it would still leave the bolts protruding on the outside where they could scratch/poke/catch on many other things, in addition to my pets. This is something you may really want to consider before settling on this product. (*It may actually be easy to have the bolts cut to size, then smoothed down; but I'm not handy enough to make that claim.) Moving on... The design of this product makes it very easy to refill the bowl with food or water. The bowl is deep enough to hold a decent amount of water, and you don't have to walk too carefully from the sink to avoid spills. The bowl just sits within the round frame. Just plop it in and lift it out as needed. Very efficient for someone who has limited use of their hand.
