The colors of this puzzle are just amazing. Having different prominent sections of colors like purple, blue, red, and orange allows us to separate the pieces and each work on an area so we can enjoy it as a family! The pieces are thick, good quality, and a standard size for a 200 piece wood puzzle. The puzzle has some charming little whimsy pieces, including various animals. Those are our favorites! I think the age range for this puzzle can be anywhere from about 8 up to 100! We worked on it with an 8 year old, and several adults of varying ages. All had a great time. This is a really good gift if you know a puzzle lover. Or if you want to try a wood puzzle for the first time, this is a great one to choose.

My family has always liked a good puzzle. We've done standard jigsaw puzzles, 3d puzzles, 3d crystal puzzles, and mazes of all kinds. This was an opportunity to do something different that was still comfortable. The puzzle is mostly more "standard cut" pieces, but there are several unique shapes to "hold" it together and make it more interesting. The only cautions I can provide are that some of the pieces are cut with thin "sticks" (think cat tails) that could break easily if not well cared for, and some of the edges seemed to have small "burrs", like the cut was 99% through (enough to separate but to leave a rough edge). The pieces fit snugly together, but slide in and out - no "forcing" to get them in, however you might have to "wiggle" it a little as the pieces slide a little when placed. From what I've seen and researched, this is normal. For someone bored with old-fashioned jigsaw puzzles, this might be a great way to branch out and do something different while still staying within their comfort zone. We couldn't be happier!

I'm a little obsessed with wooden puzzles. I love the precision fit, the fun pieces, and the (typically) beautiful colors. When I saw this one, I absolutely couldn't resist. I'm glad I ordered it. I really loved the pieces in this puzzle. Many of these have pieces that are similar throughout the puzzle then have a few fun shapes thrown in. This puzzle was chock-full of interesting and unique pieces. I will say that when every piece is so unique, it does remove some of the challenge, but not every puzzle needs to be a practice for Mensa. These pieces seemed to tell a story. I love how a tree is made of three pieces, or there is a flower inside a flower. The colors on the boy make it feel like he is dreaming. It's almost like a puzzle within a puzzle. There is just nothing about this puzzle I don't love.

There are two ways you could put this puzzle together, I think. Go by the picture, or go by the Shape Families! If you look the pictures, youll see part of one of the families - the candle-tree family, as I think of it - and I found and assembled that based on shapes! There are a number of different shape families in this puzzle, all appropriately themed. The paper picture of the puzzle has the outline map on the back, and when you look at that it becomes crazy obvious. Its glorious. Once I realized that I had fun just examining the pieces themselves. If you do this puzzle as a family holiday tradition, Im guessing youll get people claiming the candle tree or the sleigh. The colors of the puzzle itself are kind of blah, but I feel like the picture is just an excuse for the pieces to exist. I would possibly have as much fun assembling this puzzle upside down. Drawback for serious puzzlers: the pieces do not click. Because the pieces are so delightfully organized, I do not see this as a problem, though it can make it difficult to move finished sections around.

Wooden Puzzle - Mandala with Poster I love this puzzle! The wooden pieces are very strong and cut with precision. It would be incredibly difficult to break any part of this, including the storage box. The mandala image is vibrant, detailed, and exploding with color. There isn't a paper overlay as with standard puzzles. So, you don't have to worry about the picture warping, fading, or tearing over time. There is a reference poster included that can also be hung up for decoration. Each piece is unique, and the pieces are so varied. There are people, animals, and all sorts of unusual shapes. This really is a fun puzzle to put together. 5 stars.
