If youre seeing negative reviews about the smell and youre concerned, I can tell you this smells exactly like jarred ground horse radish. If that bothers you, then I probably wouldnt buy. Despite the smell (which does dissipate), there really isnt much of a taste. If anything, its extremely mild. So far, I like these. Im autistic, and brushing my teeth is a task I absolutely hate. I do it because I need to, but I wanted to try the miswak sticks because Ive heard it can be preferable for neurodivergent people. I can say it is a much better experience. I can brush almost anywhere, anytime, and I dont have to use toothpaste. Its completely portable, natural, and easy to use. Its also very easy to get it started and its affordable. My teeth feel very clean after each use, and it doesnt bother me at all to use it. My one and only complaint so far is that I dont like that it sheds bristles. Its annoying to have to pick the little bristles out of my mouth each time one falls out, but for all thats good about these, Ill not complain too much.

They work, my teeth are brighter! My teeth also feel really clean after, however they taste awful! Buy them, just be prepared!

I switched to using a miswak stick instead of a tooth brush and the results are amazing. These are a little on the thick side but they still work great. They're a little expensive compared to other brands of the same quality. These really get your teeth clean.

I was nervous to buy this because of the reviews saying the smell and taste were "too horrible". I got them in the mail, followed the directions, and started brushing. The smell is like a mix between a root vegetable (because its a freaking piece of a tree) and maybe a radish. So my first time brushing I just breathed through my mouth (like when you cut onions). After that first use I was floored! My teeth have NEVER felt so clean. I'm obsessive about my oral care, I brush, floss, scrape my tongue, gargle..everything. This is a whole new experience of clean. My teeth are smooth and feel so clean after every use! And the best part? I can eat after brushing, first thing, and I dont have to worry about the funky toothpaste taste. This is a game changer. Also because it doesn't require toothpaste, you can use it wherever, whenever! No need to spit or hold the toothpaste in while you're getting ready. Brush on your commute(you might make funny faces), brush while doom scrolling. Too depressedto get out of bed? No problem. Get cozy and work on your oral health! AND! Its naturally teeth whitening. I love this product. Also, some people left reviews saying it molded. I havent had that experience and I live with a very humid swamp cooler. So, do with that what you will.

Im actually very fond of these miswak sticks. Very effective, soft enough that I can brush my gums with it despite having sensitive gums, and stiff enough to effectively remove all plaque. Very impressed. It kind of reminds me of a natural version of a micro-nano toothbrush, which I also have and love to use. I was a little skeptical when I saw some people say that they didnt like the smell or taste, but, Ive also been using herbal and natural things for many years, and I know sometimes people say that because the product is actually bad, but probably a majority of the time, people say things like that because they expect it to be the same as what theyre used to. This is a plant, not plastic, and its not going to taste or smell like unicorn sparkles or an artificial flavor. If you need to have flavor, have a natural mint or minty tea after cleaning with the miswak stick. If the batch was shipped in good condition, it wont have any problems. When you open it, it will have a mild earthy smell that Id describe as wet grass or wet tree and a very mild horseradish smell, but that smell dissipates very fast after opening the individually wrapped sticks, thats just a natural smell that wrapped plants will get because they need a bit of air exposure after opening. After soaking the end of the stick, theres no smell, and it has no flavor, its completely flavorless. Left my mouth feeling and tasting very fresh after brushing with it, without having to spit! I just drank cold water after brushing, and my mouth was fresh. Rinse the stick after using it, and dry it, and then its ready for you to wet the end again and reuse it. Really glad I got this, Im surprised at how well it works.
