Locking tabs were on the wrong side

[From the advertisement: "Compatible with Toyota Radio Wiring Harness: Jayubien 16pin car stereo wire harness adapter replacement for Toyota 4Runner 2003-2010..."] Functions as advertised (correct wiring to pins and plug ends with interior orientation flanges of the right shape & location), HOWEVER, the exterior locking bits of the plug were on the opposite side from stock (for a 2006 Toyota 4Runner). This means the harness adapter should work electrically, but you run the risk of the plugs coming apart if you do not secure them in some fashion other than the original vehicle's locking tabs. They are not quite completely "plug & play" like you would expect from a "compatible" wiring harness adapter. Also, note the 16-pin (black) plug may not directly fit into your stereo receiver, which may necessitate purchase of an additional adapter. (It did not fit either the previous stereo receiver or the new replacement I just installed.) There are also no wiring diagrams or labels, with the exception of the "Reverse" wire, which is not applicable in my case. Wire colors and pin locations seemed to match the OEM harness, but if you've previously had an aftermarket stereo/receiver installed, that may no longer be the case. 3 stars because this adapter electrically worked with the OEM wiring harness, but without the proper locking tabs to keep things connected.

Works on a 2005 Toyota Celica

Great that they are making these as these work on a 2005 Toyota Celica. The car is in excellent condition but being built in 2005, it has the original CD/radio player. I wanted to put in a new Android Auto head unit, but one of the complications is matching the wires from the old and the new, and this makes it as simple as pie. (I'm assuming pies are simple as I never really baked one.)
