Great gadget

Bought for gifts because I have one and I love it. Lots of batteries and never have to guess if there good or not. Anyone with kids that have toys definitely needs this!!

Basic and generic but does its job

You can see quite a few of these available with the same design or bundled in packs. I considered getting this from a different seller/listing where they offered 2 for just $1 more but I didn't have the need for it so I stuck with just this one. It does not require a battery to operate as it uses the battery it is measuring to check for a current. It worked well with both a CR2032/25 battery and with AA and AAA. I am not expecting exact measurements and do not use it for long as to not waste the battery either. Just place the battery and connect it to the plates and see if the needle goes to green, middle, or doesn't budge (don't take more than .5-1s). If you're looking for absolute precision for technical work, this is not for you. If you just want to check your batteries still got something left or need replacing (looking at you, smoke detectors), this will do the job.

Stopped working for button or mini batteries

Bought two units and they both worked fine initially. But after 6 months one stopped working without warning for just the button or mini batteries. Showed zero charge. I tested AAA and AA batteries and this worked fine. So I mistakenly concluded that my newly bought cr 2032 batteries were defective, and ordered new ones. I only discovered that this tester was defective when the replacements also showed zero charge. I used the second tester that worked and showed these batteries were fine. So, a lot of hassles, made worse by not suspecting that this first tester was the problem.
