The needle minders worked well for my smaller needles (up to 4.5 mm) but the holes are too small for larger needles. The larger needle stoppers worked on my 4.5mm and larger needles. The smaller needle stoppers worked well with both my bamboo and steel needles. The smaller needle stoppers stayed on both types of needles from the 2.5mm size up to the 10.0 mm size. The needles slip off more easily than I would like on my steel needles. They stayed on my bamboo needle better.

I bought this set for the 10 2-hole drawstring cord locks that were included in the set. It had never occurred to me that you could use these for knitting needles, but they are amazing for my circular needles. I think they would also work with straight needles. They work well with my 2mm 8 circular needles all the way up to my 4.5mm needles. The holes are too small for needles any larger to go all the way through the holes which is necessary for them to hold securely. It would have been nice if there were few of a bigger size like they have with the cone style needle caps. The cone style needle caps are what I expected. They are okay, but not the most secure. They can get knocked off reasonably easily, and don't really fit very well on the smallest or largest sizes.
