Between in line outdoor sting lights suspended 15 foot in the air, outdoor fountain(s), and outdoor accent lights I currently have 13 of these Outdoor Extension Cord Safety Cover with Waterproof Seal (small size) permanently in use outside my home. The number rises to 15 when I add holiday lighting displays. They are watertight thus protecting them from the torrential downpours we know all so well here in Florida. Most of them are setting on top of the ground or suspended in the air however about 1/3 of them are buried under landscape rock. From time to time I have had to open these up to reroute the connections and they showed no signs of moisture or anything different then when they were sealed up. Bottom line the work and protect your connection.

These are easy to use, work great for your standard extension cord ends. Have gone through several rains and everything is nice and dry!

These are great for protecting extension cord connections you may have outside. I have multiple extension cords around the patio and gazebo for string lights and other things. The only problem with this is that it's not subtle. If you're trying to hide cords or connections this won't work unless it's behind something and already out of site.

I purchased these to join my FEIT outdoor led string lights. These string lights are 48 and well built. I.e. thick wire and heavy for string lights. These safety covers were unable to keep the string light plugs from separating under tension. There are little tabs that are supposed to grip the cable and prevent the connection from separating but they werent strong enough. The weight of the string lights were just too much. They were easy to install and havent noticed and significant water penetration. I was able to prevent the string light plugs from separating by using 4 cable ties. I fastened one cable tie around each cable just aft the plug. Before completely tightening them I looped 2 cable ties through each cable near the plugs. Then I pulled the first two around the cables tight and then the other 2 which forced the plugs together. Theres no way they are ever coming apart without cutting them. I put the covers back in to hide the connection and protect it from water. Worked nice with this small Mod.

I have no pictures as it is now March and we have long since taken down our winter decorations. That being said, these boxes saved me a million trips down 3 flights of stairs. We live on the second/third floor in our odd New England house, and every time it would rain, or when snow started to defrost we had to go downstairs to unplug our lights so we wouldn't short circuit out our breaker box. This year (combined with a timer) we used these to secure all plugs, safe from any water. NOTE: if you try to shove several plugs in, there will be a chance water will get in because you have opened wider the rubber wedge that hugs the cords. This was affordable, at the time it was on sale, and worked perfectly, will buy again for next years expanded light display!
