I'm using it to monitor the water level in my rain barrel, the monitor is inside and the camera is in there under the lid. I don't have to worry about the water wrecking it. So far so good, I don't want it overflowing, and I don't want to run the pump dry. Works great for this, and I imagine it's a good backup camera, I find that mirrors work just fine because I'm old. I don't want to walk outside to look in the rain barrel for the same reason.

A decent back up camera for under $20!!! Yes, that is what this is. Really. This really is a great way to install a camera on a budget. The advert page is a little misleading, though, as it is saying what is in the kit. It makes you expect to find a number of different cables. Look down the page and see the photos showing what really is in the kit. The one cable that is actually in the kit is all that is needed and that is actually a good thing. No mass of cables to worry about. Everything needed is in the box. Installation is a simple thing. Mount the screen, install the camera and route the wiring. There are two wires at the camera end. One red and one black. Ground the black wire and connect the red to the wire that turns on the backup lamp. The camera will turn on and off as you use reverse and exit reverse. There really are no instructions. The only information is a sheet identifying the various cameras available. On that sheet you will find the specs of this and other kits. The camera has a decent picture for the price. It is clear but a little distorted. It shows a lane on the screen where you are headed. The camera screen turns on quickly and off just as quickly. It is a very nice kit and actually more than expected. There is, however, an issue with this one. On the back are 3 buttons that show a menu and lets you program the unit. Unfortunately, mine do not operate as the instruction sheet says. They do not respond at all. Fortunately, I do not have a need to make any changes. I opened the screen unit to see if the wire from the switches was plugged in. It was. Also wanted to see what you get for the money. There isn't much but what is there delivers the needed picture when backing up. I would have given this 5 stars had the buttons worked but had to deduct one star. Bottom line here is that if you are on a budget and want one of these, this is a very good choice.
